The Following Recap: "Welcome Home"

On this week’s The Following Joey awoke at Maniac Mansion with his father staring at him because that’s not creepy at all. Joe (James Purefoy) seemed touched to be in the same room with his son finally. He tried bonding with Joey, but was met with the silent treatment. Joe apologized for Claire’s absence, and promised to bring his mommy there.  Emma (Valorie Curry) insisted Joey would come around once he knew Joe better.

Agent Donovan (Mike Colter) was put in charge of overseeing the Joe Carroll case, probably because the FBI was embarrassed at the ineptitude of their colleagues thus far.  He made it clear he wasn’t a fan of Ryan’s (Kevin Bacon) free range (and torturing of suspects), since he’s only supposed to be a consultant. The fact the Donovan was doing his job, pissed everybody off.  Ryan sulked, and made sure to give a lot of sass.  READ MORE

Dallas Buries J.R. Ewing

Dallas laid J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) to rest on Monday and by time the episode was over there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Ok, so my eyes are the only set in the house, but they weren’t dry I assure you.

From John Ross’ (Josh Henderson) sorrow-filled anger, to Bobby’s (Patrick Duffy) grief stricken discovery that J.R. wasn’t killed by a random mugger, Dallas gave television's ultimate villain a stunning sendoff. However, it was Sue Ellen’s (Linda Gray) grave side eulogy that broke me down in “J.R.’s Masterpiece”.

What was your favorite moment from J.R.’s Masterpiece”?

Matt Lauer Reflects on Ann Curry’s Today Show Exit

Ann Curry’s ouster from Today left many viewers with ill feellings toward the long-running morning show. No one has felt the brunt of fan backlash more than Matt Lauer. The Daily Beast’s Howard Kurtz recently spoke with the morning show frontman, who finally gave his side of the story.

Lauer on Curry’s exit,

“I don’t think the show and the network handled the transition well. You don’t have to be Einstein to know that,” says Lauer.
“It clearly did not help us. We were seen as a family, and we didn’t handle a family matter well.”
