Ugly Betty
Lohan In Talks To Get "Ugly"
By Jamey Giddens on May 02, 2008

First Britney on How I Met Your Mother and now this. TV Guide's Michael Ausiello is confirming that Another World alum Lindsay Lohan is in advanced talks to appear on the season finale of Ugly Betty and, get this, she could return next season for a multi-episode arc!
Why is it that the best shows on television have become the place for train wrecked celebutantes to try to rebuild their careers? I realize the Britney sighting gave Mother its best ratings to date among its core demo, but that had nothing to do with her acting ability. People simply tuned in to see if she was actually sane and seemly enough to deliver her lines. It's like bad porn or a car accident, you can't help but watch.
Lohan, once upon a time, was one of the most talented actresses of her generation. I loved her opposite Tom Eplin (Jake) as little Ally Fowler on Another World and followed her career all the way from the sucessful Parent Trap and Freaky Friday updates to the teen classic Mean Girls. Then something happened. She stopped acting and started self destructing. Oh well, everyone deserves a second chance, I just don't want to see my fave primetime shows become a rehabilitation center for troubled post teen stars.
Ugly Betty Bumps Rebecca Romijn For Season Three
By Jamey Giddens on April 25, 2008
Don't expect to see much of Rebecca Romijn's transsexual heroine Alexis Meade when Ugly Betty comes back in the fall. According to TV Guide Canada , in an effort to get the show back to its roots, some characters, like Romijn's, are being shown the door or bumped to recurring. Romijn will be on recurring status next season. Critics of the show have contended that the ABC hit has "lost it's heart" and needs to get back to the original premise of Betty as a fish-out-of-water. I guess I hadn't noticed. I have loved every second of Ugly Betty (okay the deportation storyline was a bit out there, but it's a telenovela come on!). I hate to see Romijn go; her Alexis was at varying times tragic, comedic and blood thursty, all in one statuesque frame. Hey, maybe Romijn can land a gig on ER opposite her ex-hubby John Stamos (ex-Blackie Parrish, General Hospital)?

SANTA BARBARA Sighting! A Martinez To Star In Lifetime Movie With Ugly Betty's Hilda and Scrubs' Carla
By Jamey Giddens on April 25, 2008
One of the most popular leading men in the history of soaps, A Martinez has signed up for a ripped-from-the-headlines Lifetime movie called Little GIrl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story. The movie is based on the real life events surrounding Luz Cuevas, who for six years believed her daughter had died in a Philadelphia apartment fire, only to one day spy the little girl alive and well at a birthday party. Scrubs actress Judy Reyes will play the lead role, with Ugly Betty actress Ana Ortiz playing a relative. Martinez, who shot to fame over 20 years ago as Santa Barbara's top cop Cruz Castillo, will play a city councilman who helps reunite mother and child. Martinez is also known to fans of General Hospital as Bobbie Spencer's one-time lover Roy DiLuca.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
By Luke Kerr on April 10, 2008
Allegedly, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel signed on to the original movie and there was a clause that committed them to do a sequel. No one expected the original movie to become a cult hit and make as much money as it did. Then America Ferrera hit the big time with Ugly Betty and won a bunch of awards and the studios decided to cash in. Of course it didn't hurt that Blake Lively became a pop culture sensation on Gossip Girl. Supposedly several of the stars didn't want to do the sequel but their original contract forced them to.
