Is CNN's Jeff Zucker interested in snapping up The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck? According to Page Six, the cable suit wants the talking head to join the CNN family.
We hear CNN honcho Jeff Zucker is interested in seeing her join his cable channel. A source told us, “They’re definitely interested.”
It can’t be fun being Elisabeth Hasselbeck these days. First came the reports she was being fired from The View. Then Barbara Walters denied Hasselbeck was leaving. Now the New York Post is reporting that Hasselbeck is in fact on her way out.
“Dumping Joy Behar, who was there 16 years, and Hasselbeck would be the fastest way to do it, they decided. After giving Behar the bad news last week and letting her bow out gracefully, someone leaked the Hasselbeck thing. Some enemies she has on the show saw their chance to get back at her. Barbara was spitting mad that it got mishandled, and called off the firing over [last] weekend.”
While we heard Hasselbeck would go when her contract is up next year, the source added, “It could be earlier, because the ABC brass believes the show needs to be younged-up fast. They easily could coax her to go early.” READ MORE

Oh this could be delicious. According to New York Daily News, Joy Behar is working on a no holds barred standup comedy act about her years on The View and isn’t afraid to spill the proverbial tea.
“Joy knows everything, she’s lasted this whole time,” says our source. “She knows why Debbie Matenopoulos was fired, the truth about Star Jones’ marriage, and the time Star [supposedly] tackled her to the ground when Joy tried to take a photograph of her on her wedding day.” (Star magazine had bought exclusive rights to the event.)
“She knows which host had trouble borrowing clothes for the show because they often returned them soiled,” says the source. “And then there is the whole Rosie O’Donnell drama, not to mention working with Barbara.” READ MORE

More details are coming out about the results of ABC’s research into The View’s hosts. US Weekly alleged Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving The View because viewer research found her “too extreme and right wing”, a claim Barbara Walters denies. Now, in a article published by The Hollywood Reporter, it seems the audience study may have found both Hasselbeck and Joy Behar polarizing.
Longtime panelists Behar and Hasselbeck on the left and right, respectively, were deemed too "polarizing," according to several sources. "They're out of sync with the audience," notes one source.
THR points out,
It's unclear when the co-hosts were made aware of the research, but on March 7, Behar, 70, announced that she will exit View after 16-plus years at the end of her contract this summer.
