One Life to Live BEATS The View Among Women 18-49 During Final Week on Air!!!!!
By Jamey Giddens on January 20, 2012
Cancelled ABC Daytime soap opera One Life to Live was the No. 2 program in daytime among women 18-49 for the week of January 9. That's right, I said program — not just soap opera!
OLTL, with a W18-49 average for the week of 1.2, came in behind CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless (1.4) in the coveted demo, but bested The View (1.1), The Bold and the Beautiful (1.0), The Price Is Right (1.0) and General Hospital (1.0), which rounded out daytime's top five broadcast programs for the week in question.
Now for the funny part. Even with these stellar ratings for OLTL, the ABC ratings press release is touting The Chew having its most watched week ever. Um...yeah and it still didn't make the Top 5! Spin much? Shame on any entertainment website or blog that runs this dressed up press release verbatim without actually taking the time to analyze the numbers!

ABC Denies Barbara Walters is Retiring Next Year
By Jillian Bowe on December 15, 2011
Sorry kids, it looks as though Barbara Walters was trying her comedy routine out on President Barack Obama. TMZ reports the veteran journalist is not headed for retirement, despite her statement when interviewing the President. Senior Vice President of ABC News Jeff Schneider told the site:
Barbara has joked that she is retiring every year since the Clinton Administration. Anyone who just did a day trip to Syria, 90-minute prime time special and an interview with the President and First Lady hardly sounds like someone retiring from anything.
Did Babs pull an okey doke on Obama to snag an interview? When TMZ asked Schneider if Walters exaggerated in order to do so, he laughed and stated:

It is a brand new web series for The Upright Citizens Brigade's online comedy channel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will take aim at the backstage shenanigans on chatfests like The Talk and The View. Gaffney stated:
It’s everything you’ve always wanted to see behind the scenes at a women’s talk show … except the topless parts.
Back Talk begins shooting in March and is slated to debut in May on UCBcomedy.com.
Is Barbara Walters Retiring Next Year?
By Jillian Bowe on December 15, 2011
Say it ain't so, Babs! TMZ is reporting Barbara Walters may be hanging up her mic for good next year (Editor's Note: Shoulda happened five years ago). The site claims Walters had just finished interviewing President Barack Obama when the announcement slipped out. TMZ alleges while Walters was taking a break from shooting the interview, she leaned over and said to the Prez,
I need one more interview with you because I'm retiring next year."
