CBS Daytime's boss lady has been heralded by one of the leading publications covering television. Angelica McDaniel, the Tiffany Network's daytime veep, was recently named one of 2013's "Next Wave of Leaders" by Broadcasting & Cable. Said McDaniel in the article:
"The challenge on those iconic shows is to try new things and to think beyond what we've always done," McDaniel says. "We're always pushing to do things different, to tell a story, to get people talking, to engage our viewers, to add technology, But" she adds, "you still have to respectful of the history."
The tragic passing of The Sopranos star James Gandolfini has had Hollywood reeling since Wednesday. The 51-year-old actor reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack while vacationing in Italy.

CBS Daytime continues to stock up on bragging rights. All of the division's programs saw week-to-week ratings increases the week ending June 14. Signature chatfest, The Talk posted its largest audience since Feb. 4.
Over 2.5 million viewers tuned in for the zany antics and lively conversations exchanged by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler. The Talk was also up 10 percent among women 25-54. READ MORE
TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan is reporting The Talk will host a post Daytime Emmy show on June 17. The show will feature winners from the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, including talk shows and soap operas from rival networks.
The 40th Annual Daytime Emmy awards airs June 16 at 8 pm EST on HLN.
