While ABC Daytime's struggling talker The View does precious little to promote the lineup's flagship serial General Hospital these days (Wish we could say the same for The Chew!), CBS Daytime has managed to create the perfect mixture of suds, game shows and a fun, light-hearted chatfest to highlight them all.

In a new, extensive report from Broadcasting & Cable, CBS Daytime V.P Angelica McDaniel discussed how The Talk compliments soaps The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Said McDaniel:

"With the addition of The Talk, we’ve found a formula that works for us with dramas, game and talk,” says McDaniel, CBS Daytime's senior VP. “It may have been controversial at the time to let go of a soap to bring on a talk show, but The Talk is now a platform for us to highlight our soap stars.”

The 20th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala brought together a number of current and former daytime stars. General Hospital favorite and Dancing With the Stars competitor Ingo Rademacher (pictured with wife Ehiku above) walked the orange carpet in support of the cause.

Former The Young and the Restless star Clementine Ford was joined by her fiancé Cyrus Wilcox and mother Cybill Shepherd. Criminal Minds' Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm, Y&R), former Days of Our Lives vixen Lisa Rinna, Save Me star Anne Heche (ex-Vicky and Marley Hudson, AW) and The Talk’s Sharon Osbourne and Sara Gilbert were also in attendance. Current and former soap stars, from The Young and the Restless’ Melody Thomas Scott to Days of Our Lives grad Trevor Donovan, walked the red carpet at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards on April 20 in Los Angeles. Crystal Chappell, The Talk’s Sara Gilbert, cast members from Days of Our Lives, ex-One Life to Live stars, The Bold and the Beautiful's Linsey Godfrey and Guiding Light grad Matt Bomer also celebrated the evening.
