The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Daytime Confidential/Pop Confidential’s Luke, Jamey, Jillian and Regan returned to Sirius XM's The Morning Jolt With Larry Flick Friday, November 5 for two hours of daytime and pop culture dissection with Flick and his partner-in-snark Keith Price.
In the wild first hour, Larry let loose with several comments about General Hospital’s Elizabeth Webber that had Jamey, Luke and Regan howling in defense of their sacred heroine, as DC's lone JaSam fan Jillian cheered. The return of Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo as Brenda Barrett was also discussed. Does the veteran Billboard writer and radio personality feel the story is limping along like the DC'ers?
The discussion shifted to One Life to Live, the show Larry previously said should be canceled the last time the gang appeared. Has the return of soap superstar Kim Zimmer as Countess Echo di Savoy helped change that opinion? What about All My Children, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives? Don't worry, they all get plenty of raunchy, hilarious service!
During the second hour, Larry dives into Pop Confidential territory, taking Luke to task over his dislike of country's current teen queen Taylor Swift. Then, pop culture meets politics as Larry and Keith weigh in on the recent Pop Confidential podcast debate over former President George W. Bush saying Kanye West’ claiming Bush hated black people was the low point of his presidency. If you thought this crew was crazy by themselves, just wait 'til you hear Out Q's most outrageous duo added to the mix! READ MORE
Help me Holy Ghost. Two of daytime's biggest divas came together on today's episode of The Wendy Williams Show. Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva author Victoria Rowell appeared on Wendy's chatfest to promote her dishy, new tome and also defended the Obama dress she wore at last year's Primetime Emmys. Rowell then answered questions about whether or not she will be appearing on the next season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Take a peek after the jump!
Popular urban blog DimeWars.com has posted a clip of Wendy Williams discussing those Victoria Rowell to The Real Housewives of Atlanta rumors. From the looks of the clip (after the jump) , Ms. Williams would we be down for seeing the soap opera diva mixing it up with the housewives! Williams did try to diss Rowell's Emmy Awards Obama dress though. Don't hate Wendy, don't hate! READ MORE
The Internet is abuzz with speculation that former soap opera diva Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla, The Young and the Restless) is set to join the cast of the smash hit Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta, possibly replacing either Nene Leakes or Kim Zolciak, who are rumored to be causing Bravo distress by constantly asking for more cash.
I have to tell yall, the entire ATL is going crazy to find out who is going to be the Next Atlanta House Wife. Several sources have told me that the one and only queen of day time television Victoria Rowell is going to be the newest wife to be added to the show, but nothing is set in stone just yet. She is best known for two high profile television roles: Drucilla Winters on the daytime drama The Young and the Restless, and her primetime role as Dick Van Dyke’s medical examiner, Dr. Amanda Bentley, on Diagnosis: Murder. I have been told that Bravo is looking at Victoria because she is full of drama and loves to fight. I have to tell yall, after working with people that have worked for her, “She would be the right one for the job”. They say ”she’s crazy, funny, and made for TV”. My only question is I didn’t know she lived in Atlanta.
After hearing about this from my ever-tweeting homegirl Jillian Bowe, I decided to find out myself. I called up Ms. Rowell, make that Mrs. Bailey, since she is now married to Radcliffe Bailey, a famed artist, collected by the likes of Elton John, who is based in Atlanta, where Rowell, the mother of two, and a stepmother to Bailey's children, does in fact divide her time between her fabulicious home in L.A.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta dropped by the Ellen show on Tuesday, and while Nene is my favorite of the Housewives, it was the recent scenes of Sheree pulling Kim's wig that interested Ellen. The topic quickly deteriorated into an argument about bounced checks, name calling and accusations of affairs with married men. Ellen tried to separate Sheree and Kim by sitting on the couch between them, but by time they cut to commercial, Ellen almost looked relieved.
When they came back from commercials, the Housewives played one of Ellen's favorite games, blindfolded musical chairs, and hilarity ensued. Watch a clip of the entire appearance after the jump. READ MORE
