Brandi Cochran, come on down, and get your checks totaling $8.5 million! The former The Price is Right model sued TPIR Productions and FremantleMedia North America, when she reportedly lost her job, following a maternity leave in 2010. 

On Wednesday, Cochran was awarded $7.7 million in punitive damages. This amount is on top of the $777,000 in actual damages she was awarded earlier in the week.  Said Cochran to ABC News:

"I'm humbled. I'm shocked," Cochran said after the jury announced its verdict. "I'm happy that justice was served today not only for women in the entertainment industry, but women in the workplace."

What a difference a competent executive makes! Daytime soap opera, game and talk show fans likely noticed a familiar name among The Hollywood Reporter's recent Next Gen 2012 list. Angelica McDaniel, CBS Entertainment's senior vice-president for Daytime, was touted for her success overseeing The Price is Right, Let's Make a Deal, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and most notably The Talk, which is the fastest growing show on network television. 

What is McDaniel's biggest piece of advice?

 To listen. People will always teach you something if you’re paying attention.

I've been hella impressed with the way The Price is Right, Lets Make a Deal and The Talk have been cross-promoting Y&R and B&B since McDaniel took over. Bob Barker, The Young and the Restless’ Kate Linder and Days of Our Lives’ James Reynolds were among the celebrities who gathered at a private home in the Hollywood Hills for the Animal Defenders International Gala “Lion Ark Night” on October 13. For some time now, The Price is Right has been featuring a little beef cake, courtesy of The Young and the Restless stud Daniel Goddard. During the first week of October, CBS Daytime will devote special programming to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  In a released statement, CBS Senior VP of Daytime Entertainment Angelica McDaniel said:

I can’t think of anything more important than reminding women to get a mammogram or do a self-examination during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’m proud that our daytime shows have stepped forward to support this cause.
