Critics Pan Charlie's Angels on ABC

Uh oh. The reviews for ABC’s remake of Charlie’s Angels are coming in and they aren’t good. Zap2it calls it “an unnecessary reboot” and advises “if your DVR is getting full, there are many other new fall shows you should check out before Charlie's Angels.”

The Hollywood Reporter is even less diplomatic about Charlie’s Angels, calling the writing “atrocious” and lumped it with Work It as “far and away the two worst shows of this new season.”

HitFix calls it “too dull to be sexy.” The Chicago Sun Times weighs in saying, “Charlie’s Angels is proof that angels exist in hell.” It advises watching NBC’s Prime Suspect instead, calling it “smart, well-paced procedural (yes, make room for another police procedural) that’s expertly carried by the uber-talented Maria Bello.”

Makes you miss Ugly Betty on Thursday nights doesn’t it? Will you be watching the Charlie’s Angels premiere tonight on ABC?

Meanwhile, ABC has reason to be excited about the new season. According to Deadline, The Middle and Modern Family both improved over last fall, up 11 percent and 18 percent respectively. Modern Family beat The X Factor in 18-49 demos. The debut of Revenge, its new Hampton based soap, “gave ABC its best debut in the Wednesday 10 PM time period in 4 years.”

ABC Renews Six Series!

ABC handed out renewals for six of its popular series Monday. Shonda Rhimes’ Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice both earned additional seasons, as did the network’s Wednesday comedies Modern Family, The Middle and Cougar Town. Nathan Fillion’s Castle was the other ABC series renewed.

Of some concern to yours truly, was the lack of good news for my favorite Sunday series Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. Let’s hope we get good news about them soon.

The View's Joy Behar Blames Tea Party For Keeping Bristol Palin on Dancing With D-Listers

You gotta love how the ladies of The View go from Point A to Point Q without stopping for gas and/or reason. Whoopi Goldberg was fired up on Wednesday's show because Brady Bunch mom Florence Henderson was booted off Dancing With The Stars, while Bristol "Monkey Suit" Palin made it through to the next episode (So was I, Whoop, so was I!).

Sherri Shepherd wondered if people, who may have thought it was nasty for Henderson to make out with her former TV son Barry Williams (ex-Greg Brady) during a segment, decided not to vote for her. Elizabeth Hasselbeck pointed to Palin's fanbase. Joy Behar basically co-signed Hasselbeck's theory, adding it was Tea Party members voting for Palin's rhythmless nation moves.

I don't no what to be more perplexed about, the thought of Palin having more fans than one of TV's favorite moms, or Joy and Elisabeth believing people will vote for political elections with the same forethought they do a televised dancing competition. Jesus take the Ballot Box. Watch a clip from the episode—which also featured guest host Patricia Heaton— after the jump! READ MORE
