The Today Show may still be feeling Hoda Kotb, but The View’s Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie aren't checking for her! On Wednesday's episode of The View, Walters denied rumors the ABC chatfest was trying to snag Kotb away from NBC’s morning show.
Bill and I have never called her. We have never met her. We have never offered her a compelling deal. I like her a lot.
How should a woman defend the argument women aren't harder on each other men are? If you are Barbara Walters, you interrupt your female co-host repeatedly and nearly hit her while trying to make the point!
The Huffington Post chronicled the debate between ABC's retiring legendary interviewer, guest host Joe Scarborough and Sherri Shepherd, during which Walters prevented Sherri from disagreeing about topic.
"Women are so much tougher on other women than men are," Scarborough said.
"I think that's a myth," Walters fired back.
Shepherd disagreed with Walters once more and began to speak to Scarborough's point.
"We are--" she began. But Walters interrupted her again, this time sticking her hand out to stop her from speaking.
"I don't think that," Walters said, holding her hand in front of Shepherd. "I think that most women-- and I work all the time with women-- and they are supporting and helpful."
"I think you're not seeing women--" Shepherd began again.
This time Walters interrupted her again. She lifted her hand and pushed it toward Shepherd, nearly smacking her in the face!
"[I've worked] seventeen years on this show, and you haven't seen it," Walters said.
Don't expect Hoda Kotb to abandon Kathie Lee Gifford during the fourth hour of Today. According to Capital New York, Kotb has signed a new contract with NBC that will keep her on Today and allow her to contribute to other NBC news programming.
Kotb was hotly pursued by ABC earlier this year, with the network promising her a high-profile gig on daytime talk stalwart “The View,” as well as a role with ABC News. While we hear the ABC offer was “compelling,” Kotb’s current home apparently offered the better deal.

Matt Lauer's Today contract is up in 2015. Whether NBC will extend his tenure or replace him with one of the men the network has waiting in the wings is a growing topic of discussion — especially with Good Morning America beating Today in the ratings.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Gregory and Willie Geist are the leading in-house contenders, along with CNBC's Carl Quintanilla. Reportedly, Carson Daly is also a dark horse possibility.
Data provided to THR by Q Scores, which measures audience sentiment toward stars, reveals that Geist and Gregory have higher positive ratings than Lauer; among adult women -- the key demographic against which morning TV ads are sold -- Gregory's positive Q Score stands at 18, compared with Geist's 14. Lauer this year dropped to a positive Q Score of 7, compared with 15 in 2012. READ MORE
