Supernatural returned with a supernatural 29% ratings increase over last season's season premiere. The ratings growth of Jensen Ackles' show is even more impressive when you consider the fact that its lead in, Smallville, was down 10% from last season's premiere.

Watching Supernatural is always bittersweet. On one hand, it's great to see Jensen Ackles' ongoing primetime success. On the other hand, it's a continual reminder of the fact that Days of our Lives has done nothing with the character of Eric Brady, a character the show desperately needs to bring back.

Former Days of Our Lives star Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady) is in pre-production for director Patrick Lussier's latest horror flick My Bloody Valentine. Lussier also directed Dracula 2000 and served as an editor on both Scream 2 and Scream 3. According to Internet Movie Data Base, the plot for the film has the Supernatural star's character Tom returning to his hometown just in time for the 10th anniversary of a Valentine's Day massacre where 22 people were killed. Little does Tom know he's the chief suspect in the slayings. Never fear Ackles lovers,  I predict all 22 victims will turn up still alive and held captive on an island by Stefano. My Bloody Valentine is tenatively set for 2009 release date.
