PC #23: Glee's Super Bowl Spectacular
By Pop Confidential on February 09, 2011
On today’s Pop Confidential podcast Jamey, Luke, Jillian, Regan and Akash dive into what was truly important about the 2011 Super Bowl. Forget who actually won the year’s biggest football game; we only cared about Christina Aguilera flubbing the national anthem, The Black Eyed Peas’ half-time show and Glee’s post Super Bowl episode.
What did the PC gang think of Christina botching the national anthem? Did she crumble under pressure or was she just trying too hard?
The Black Eyed Peas’ half-time show lived down to Luke’s expectations, but it didn’t help that Fox had audio problems. Jamey blames Fergie’s butchering of “Sweat Child O’Mine” on hubby Josh Duhamel’s alleged extramarital entanglements.
The PC crew then moves on to Glee’s post-Super Bowl episode. Did it deliver or did it fall flat? Jamey stirs up a hornet’s nest with his questions and comments about the episode. What did everyone think Glee’s "Thriller" mashup? Did Blaine and Kurt's singing “Bills, Bills, Bills” gel with the rest of the episode? Is Glee in danger of ending up like popular David E. Kelley series such as Ally McBeal, Private Practice and Boston Legal?
It's Super Hero Tuesday on One Tree Hill!
By Luke Kerr on February 08, 2011
Other than Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) “ninja poops”, my favorite quote from Glee’s Super Bowl episode was Brittany’s “I don’t want to die yet. At least not until One Tree Hill gets canceled.” Tonight, the long running CW soap returns with its first post-wedding episode “Holding Out for a Hero.”
You know I’m a sucker for a super hero plotline–nothing else can explain trying The Cape on NBC–so you know I’ll be tuning in to find out why One Tree Hill has Brooke (Sophia Bush), Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) in super hero spandex. Watch a promo for OTH’s “Holding Out for a Hero” after the jump!

Glee Belts Out "Silly Love Songs" Tonight!
By Luke Kerr on February 08, 2011
Glee hopes to capitalize on its post Super Bowl Sunday mega ratings and get those new viewers back for a second time tonight. The Valentine's episode, titled “Silly Love Songs”, revolves around the drama of a McKinley high kissing booth and features a performance by the Warblers of Paul McCartney's "Silly Love Songs."
Maybe my expectations were too high, but I must admit being a bit disappointed in Glee’s Super Bowl episode. As a whole it was a good episode, but it wasn’t great and The Warblers' cover of "Bills, Bills, Bills" just seemed pointless.
Hopefully, tonight’s show will redeem itself. Watch a promo for Glee’s “Silly Love Songs” and a behind-the-scenes commentary for the episode after the jump!

She appeared in one of the most buzzed about Super Bowl ads. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild. Adoring Facebook fans landed her a gig as host on Saturday Night Live and delivered the show big ratings. Her new TV Land comedy Hot in Cleveland was a hit.
