David Tom is living proof you can in fact go home again. After a 12-year absence from The Young and the Restless, Tom is slipping back into the role of Billy Abbott come Feb. 3. Billy Miller departs on Jan. 30.
The actor is diving head first into the end of a huge storyline, with Billy having learned Adam (Michael Muhney) was the culprit behind his daughter's hit-and-run. TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan spoke with Tom on what's next for Billy.
TV Guide Magazine: How do things shift for Billy once he knows Adam killed Delia?
Tom: There's certainly no closure, but there's a change in the depth of his anger. Sooner or later, the healing process will have to begin. But, for now, he's furious that Adam did what he did and — even worse — kept it a secret. I can't even imagine what it would be like to deal with something like that yet, at the same time, I can relate. I'm an uncle now in my own life and if somebody did something to harm my little nephew, well...I would definitely want to make that person suffer as much as possible. READ MORE
Former One Life to Live star Tika Sumpter dropped by The Arsenio Hall Show Thursday night to promote her new film Ride Along. The Haves and the Have Nots lead shared a tear-jerking memory of working with the late Whitney Houston on Sparkle. Sumpter recalled:
She played my mother, so that was the most amazing experience ever. That’s probably one of the biggest questions I’m asked is, ‘How was it working with Whitney?’ Whitney was everything. I’d kind of just be siting in a corner quiet and they’d be changing for the setup and she’s like, ‘You okay baby? Who do I need to talk to to make sure you’re alright?’ I’m like, ‘I’m good, I’m good!’ and she’d say, ‘I got you.’ So she was just like a mother, a motherly figure.

Grimes vacated the role due to "creative differences" with the show. Look for James to be wrapped up in a triangle when season seven returns this summer.
While CBS Daytime was rejoicing over the entire lineup being renewed today, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler was fielding questions about the Michael Muhney scandal. At the 2014 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Tassler had this to say about Muhney's firing from The Young and the Restless and the scandal which ensued following his ouster:
I can’t comment on any of the allegations. I can only say that when the producers and Sony [Pictures Television] came to us and said, ‘We want to make a change,’ and they laid out their reasoning why, we supported them.
