Blair and Chuck Need Each Other on Gossip Girl!

Monday nights are a primetime soap lover’s delight. The CW’s Gossip Girl Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) seek each other’s help for their respective plots. For the music lovers, Gossip Girl also features a performance by Florence and the Machine. Meanwhile, on 90210, the teen's search for inner peace leads through Beverly Hills. You can guess how that might turn out.

Pretty Little Liars’ Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) had better watch their backs, because things aren’t always as they seem at Rosewood High. On MTV’s controversial Skins, Cadie (Britne Oldford) tries to deal with her eating disorder.

MTV Execs Worried Skins Pushes The Envelope Too Far?

MTV has never been afraid to push the boundaries of what is acceptable, but they may have reached their limit. According to the New York Times, MTV is concerned that some of Skins’ explicit content may violate federal child pornography statutes and has requested changes to upcoming episodes.

It is unclear when MTV first realized that the show may be vulnerable to child pornography charges. On Tuesday, a flurry of meetings took place at the network’s headquarters in New York, according to an executive who attended some of the meetings and spoke only on the condition of anonymity. In one of the meetings, the executives wondered aloud who could possibly face criminal prosecution and jail time if the episodes were broadcast without changes.

I imagine the Parents Television Council would like nothing more than to see MTV’s new hit get in trouble with the feds.

Parents Television Council Blasts MTV's Skins

MTV’s much anticipated British import Skins premieres Monday January 17, but it’s already stirring up controversy. The Parents Television Council has come out swinging against the upcoming teen soap. In a statement PTC president Tim Winter blasted the new series, saying:

"Despite the MA-rating for Skins, MTV appears to be deliberately targeting teens with its marketing campaign. Skins may well be the most dangerous show for children that we have ever seen. The marketing campaign itself makes light of lying to parents and participating in all manner of harmful, irresponsible, illegal and adult-themed behavior. The trailers we have seen thus far make sexual objects of almost every single one of its characters and asks not only for viewers to approve, but to actively participate by posting their own secret stories."

Maybe I’m just rebellious, but when someone tells me a TV show is the "most dangerous series ever" it just makes me want to tune in to see for myself. Talk about counterproductive. Watch the Skins trailer after the jump. READ MORE
