Congrats to The View’s Sherri Shepherd. On December 26, the funny lady became engaged to TV writer Lamar Sally, according to People. Reportedly, Sally asked Sherri’s son Jeffrey for permission before getting down on bended knee.

New York Magazine is reporting that The Young and the Restless alum David Hasselhoff's new reality show, The Hasselhoffs, was given the axe after two episodes by A&E. According to the site, the show debuted on Dec. 5, with dismal ratings of 718,000 while its second episode brought in 505,000. No word on whether the network will burn off the remaining eight episodes.

Everywhere you look in popular culture these days it seems abusive people are helping to spike ratings. MTV has two hit reality shows (Jersey Shore and Teen Mom) where charm school graduates routinely pound on other human beings, and in an odd showing of Women's Liberation, the abusers are primarily female.
 
A recent episode of ABC's primetime hit Private Practice featured a storyline where a mentally-disturbed woman acted out by physically assaulting her husband. Now comes news that Irish soap opera Fair City has posted record increases in viewership do to a shocking story arc featuring a character named Suzanne beating the crap out of the husband who cheated on her. Meanwhile, another soap villain returned from the dead on ABC Daytime's All My Children.  READ MORE

Going into Skating With The Stars Sean Young thought her opponents should be intimidated by her. Unfortunately, the show’s judges were not. The film actress and former The Young and the Restless star got the boot after falling twice during her second week performance. After getting iced, Young told Zap2it backstage "Mostly I'm disappointed because I felt like maybe I disappointed my partner because he worked really hard with me." READ MORE

TV Guide's Michael Logan is reporting The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka will appear on The Bold and the Beautiful this January 14. Pavelka, a real-life pilot will play—you guessed it—a pilot in scenes with daytime's sexiest mother/stepson combo, Brooke and Thomas (Katherine Kelly Lang and Adam Gregory). Here's hoping Brooke and Tom join the Mile High Club (in High Def) on that flight. Brad Bell, you kinky mother (shut yo mouth!)!
