Nip/Tuck

Why American Horror Story Just Might Restore My Love For FX

FX used to be my network. I was addicted to practically everything it offered up, including: Nip/Tuck, The Shield, Lucky, Rescue Me, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Dirt. But in recent years I’ve found myself falling out of love with the network. I quit watching Nip/Tuck when they killed someone off with teddy bear stuffing. Philadelphia changed after Danny DeVito joined and I found myself watching it less and less and then no longer at all. Rescue Me has had a great run, but in many ways it became repetitive to me. I’m not watching its final season.  Today, Showtime and USA series have replaced my once beloved FX shows on my DVR.

Only one show remains “must watch” for me on FX, the brilliant Justified.  If not for it, I have broken up with the cable network years ago. But now there is hope our relationship can be rebuilt! FX has released a trailer for American Horror Story and to be crass, it looks f’ing awesome!

Starring Friday Night Light’s Connie Britton, The Practice’s Dylan McDermott, Six Feet Under’s Francis Conroy, True Blood’s Denis O’Hare and Academy Award winner Jessica Lange, no FX show since Nip/Tuck has given me the water cooler vibe American Horror Story did as I watched its promo. Watch it after the jump!

Graham Shiels Takes a Bite Out of Tonight's Nip/Tuck Season Finale

One of my favorite DC interviews, Graham Shiels (ex-Cody, General Hospital; General Hospital: Night Shift), is taking quite the bite out of Hollyweird. After playing sex-crazed vampire baddie Liam on True Blood, and beating Jim Carrey to a bloody pulp on the big screen in Yes Man, Shiels is the guest lead on tonight's season finale of Nip/Tuck.

"I play a guy who believes he's a vampire," Shiels says, laughing. "What is it with the vampire roles? I'm starting to believe I'm being typecast!"

Check out Shiels tonight on Nip/Tuck at 9 pm C/10 ET. While you're watching the show, log on to DC where I'll be live-blogging!

Damages Returns Tonight

Nip/Tuck isn't the only FX show returning this week. Tonight Damages, one of our Tina's favorite shows, returns for a 2nd season. I started watching the show last season because I loved Glenn Close on The Shield and the show had amazing performances, but I just got dizzy with all the complicated plot lines. I'm not sure I could tune in for the new season and have a clue of what is going on.

Will you be watching Damages?

Morning After Poll: Nip/Tuck Premiere

Nip/Tuck premiered last night and I ended up recording it on my DVR. Yesterday I asked how many of you would be watching it or if you'd tuned out.

What did those of you who watched it think of the premiere?

Nip/Tuck Returns Tonight, Will You Watch?

FX's screwed up, much in need of therapy, bromance, plastic surgery soap Nip/Tuck returns tonight and I can't decide if I should watch. I was a huge fan of the show until last season when, of all things, I decided that the show had jumped the shark by killing a character using teddy bear stuffing. From the looks of the promo I'm not convinced I should give it a second chance. The clip makes it look more like a SAW trailer than a TV promo. I mean seriously, who wants to watch a woman cut of her breast with a saw before going to sleep? Certainly not me.

Will you be watching this season of Nip/Tuck?
