Popular Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts fell ill, while vacationing in Key West recently. The TV journalist broke the news herself to fans via Facebook. Posted Roberts:
My heart continues to go out to the remarkably strong people of Boston. We stand by you now and always.
It saddens me that I haven't been able to join my colleagues in covering this important story.
Last week, in the middle of my Key West vacation, I began not to feel well. Nothing serious, just under the weather. I contacted my doctors and flew back to NYC. They felt it best to admit me into the hospital for a few days. Seems my young immune system needed a little boost to fight off "opportunistic infections".
My doctors assured me that this was NOT because I was working or doing too much, too soon. It's extremely common, post bone marrow transplant, to have complications. I'm blessed that mine have not been severe.
I'm feeling MUCH better, and will relax at home for the rest of the week. I'll be back on GMA next week...as my sweet momma would say: "Good Lord willing, and the creek don't rise!"
Miss you and bless you..XO
Ex-Good Morning America news anchor and 20/20 co-host Chris Cuomo won't be able to hit the snooze button for much longer. Cuomo has been tapped to co-host CNN's new morning show with Kate Bolduan. Michaela Pereira, late of KTLA Morning News, will serve as news anchor for the program.
"I've been looking forward to this announcement since I first joined CNN," said President of CNN Worldwide Jeff Zucker in a press release. “Chris, Kate and Michaela are a dynamic team that will give our viewers in America a new way to start their day. We were floored with excitement when we saw Chris and Kate together on screen, and by adding Michaela to the mix we feel we have something very special. We believe there is an opening to do news in the morning with a fresh, new voice." READ MORE
