Oprah Finale Commands $1 Million Ad Rate!
By Akash Nikolas on April 13, 2011
The Super Bowl. The Oscars. Oprah Winfrey's Final Show.
Acording to The Wrap, the May 25 finale of The Oprah Winfrey Show will command $1 million for each 30-second ad! The Queen of all Media is expected to attract a massive audience for the finale, far more than the 7 million who regularly watch her show. To put this in perspective for other huge pop culture farewells, the ad rate for Oprah's swan song is more than Lost commanded for its finale, but less than the finales of Friends, and the number one in this group, Seinfeld.

Glee Sings Its Way to 19 Emmy Nods
By Jamey Giddens on July 08, 2010
Those horny, high schoolers from Glee have a lot to be singing about this morning. The FOX megahit led the nominations for the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards. Glee grabbed 19 nominations in all, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Oustanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Lea Michele), Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series (Matthew Morrison), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Jane Lynch) and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Chris Colfer).
Glee will face off against ABC's Modern Family, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, Showtime's Nurse Jackie and NBC's 30 Rock and The Office for Outstanding Comedy Series this August. Yeah, you read that right, the final, stellar season of Ugly Betty wasn't nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, nor was the underrated-yet-awesome Cougar Town.
AMC's Mad Men also scored big, netting nods for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series (January Jones), Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series (Jon Hamm), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (John Stattery) and in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, two nods, one for Christina Hendricks and a second for Elisabeth Moss.
Mad Men will compete with ABC's Lost, AMC's Breaking Bad, Showtime's Dexter, HBO's True Blood and the CBS primetime legal sudser The Good Wife. I've already ordered a case of V to celebrate the primetime drama I hope sinks its fangs into a golden lady on Emmy night. Speaking of that bloody, good show, WTF is up with all of the True Blood actors being snubbed? Obviously voters like the show, since they nominated it for Oustanding Drama, yet I guess they think True Blood managed to be so amazing without the help of the show's phenomenal cast? The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmys will be telecast on NBC on August 29. Check out a list of the major nominees below. READ MORE
