Let's Make a Deal

Nasty Feud Between Let's Make a Deal's Wayne Brady and Bill Maher Heats Up!

The war of words between political comedian Bill Maher and Let's Make a Deal host Wayne Brady has been the talk of the blogosphere for the past few days. Apparently the squabble started when Maher took a dig at President Barack Obama's blackness—or in Maher's opinion, lack thereof—by comparing the POTUS to Brady on his HBO series Real Time With Bill Maher.

A fed up Brady went on The Talk co-host Aisha Tyler's Girl on Guy podcast and proceeded to blast off on Maher. Said Brady in response to Maher referring to Obama as "your Wayne Brady:

"Just because you f*** black hookers, just because you had that particular black experience… I have to stop myself to getting into it because I realize the thing is if I had gone on his show, or even doing it online, I'm not going to win. Because as soon as you back off, he still has his platform to say whatever he wants to." READ MORE

Angelica McDaniel Promoted to SVP at CBS Daytime

CBS is rewarding Angelica McDaniel for managing to make a modest success out of The Talk, after overcoming a few casting bumps and bruises. The network has promoted the TV exec to senior vice-president of daytime. This news is awesome sauce, considering I was hearing a certain former ABC Daytime soap slaying exec was spotted lurking and skulking about CBS late last year! READ MORE

Why Sheryl Underwood Gushing About Victor Newman on The Talk Proves CBS Isn't as Itchy to Ditch Soaps as ABC

Although the whole "black talk show host who loves her stories" schtick is a bit been there, done that (Oprah with All My Children, Star Jones and Sherri Shepherd with AMC and other ABC soaps), I can't help but believe comedienne Sheryl Underwood's affection for The Young and the Restless and its lead bastard, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)—as displayed often on CBS Daytime's The Talk— are genuine. It looks like the feeling might be mutual, as Braeden recently joked about Underwood's Y&R character becoming the next Mrs. Victor Newman, while visiting the talker! READ MORE

Will Let's Make a Deal or The Dating Game Keep You Tuning in to CBS Once the "Light" is Turned Off?

Creativity apparently knows no bounds at CBS Daytime. According to Variety, Bloom and Co. are planning to shoot an in-house pilot for a Let's Make a Deal update to possibly replace Guiding Light. Also rumored to be on tap is a re-hashed version of The Dating Game. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but haven't updates of both those game shows already been attempted in recent years, and failed? Anyhoo, when Guding Light, the serial that signifies a genre that has allowed the big three to underwrite their much more expensive, splashier, yet-nine-times-out-of-10 less successful, primetime programming for oh, the past half a century or so goes off The Tiffany airwaves this September, will you stick around to watch a Bloom-sanctioned game show fart fest?
