Which “On the Bubble” Show Needs to be Saved?

If you are worried your favorite new or returning TV series, you need to visit TV Guide and check out 11 Bubble Shows – Which Will Survive.  I compared TV Guide’s list of endangered series to TV By the Numbers’ Renew/Cancel Index. Ten of the eleven shows appeared as Toss Up, Likely to be Canceled and Certain to be Canceled by May 2012 categories. Hawaii Five-0 is the only series where the two sites differ. If you’re invested in one or more of these “On the Bubble” shows, this would be a good time to find out how to help keep it on the air.

Which Shows Did The Emmys Snub in Outstanding Drama?

The 2011 Emmy Nominations are out and while many of the best primetime dramas on television took home well-deserved Outstanding Drama nominations, every year someone ends up snubbed. I was shocked to see Showtime’s Shameless not get an Outstanding Drama nomination. Surely the Gallagher family had some outlandish scheme planned to get the nomination; what the hell happened?

I am ecstatic Justified took home acting nominations for Timothy Olyphant,  Walton Goggins and Margo Martindale, but someone needs to arrest the Emmy voters who didn’t give the series an Outstanding Drama nomination.

While AMC’s Mad Men took home Outstanding Drama nomination, The Walking Dead and The Killing were both snubbed. Each is critically acclaimed and The Walking Dead was a big ratings hit. When Zombies take over the country, Emmy voters had better not look for police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to save them.

Fox’s Fringe may have to go to another realm to get an Outstanding Drama nomination, but if that’s what it takes then how do I get there? Why is The Good Wife the only remaining broadcast drama good enough to go toe-to-toe with cable series for Outstanding Drama? Surely, series such as Fringe, and others, are worthy of the category.

Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones are both celebrating Outstanding Drama nominations, but what about two other HBO series, True Blood and Treme?

The highly anticipated musical episode of Grey’s Anatomy aired. Did it live up to the hype? The Good Wife has us on the edge of our seats, with its latest shocking twists. Luke and Regan are excited Fringe has been renewed. Jillian and Luke discuss the premiere of Starz’s Camelot.  Find out what the PC gang thought of the  Shameless season finale. PC #28: Glee's Blaine and Kurt Finally Kiss

On today’s Pop Confidential podcast Jamey, Luke, Jillian, Regan and Melodie discuss the latest in celebrity, TV, movie and music news, including:

Glee’s Blaine and Kurt finally kiss. Did the PC gang enjoy the long anticipated scene? With all the school bullying stories being reported in the news, is it ironic that Ryan Murphy appears to be bullying some music groups into letting him use their music? Are music groups selling out when they let Glee use their music?

The new costume for David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman has been revealed, but no one on the podcast, other than Luke, seems to have a big problem with it. Luke, on the other hand, has major problems with it and doesn’t think it bodes well for the upcoming remake. Will comic book fans be turned off by the costume or should they be more worried about the script? No matter what you think of the Wonder Woman costume, it inspired Pop Confidential’s most heated debate to-date.

Regan and Luke were impressed by Anna Torv’s interpretation of Leonard Nimoy’s Dr. William Bell on Fringe. Unfortunately, the amazing performance wasn’t watched by many people as the show’s ratings were down.  Jamey’s had about as much comic book and sci-fi topics as he can handle on one podcast so he turns the topic to the upcoming series The Secret Circle. Days of Our Lives’ alum Shelley Hennig has been cast as the show’s head witch.

Boris Kodjoe has found a new home on the upcoming series Georgetown and Jamey’s beloved Heather Locklear has signed on to star in The Assistants. Regan is ecstatic that Connie Briton has joined Ryan Murphy’s new FX series American Horror Story.
