Paula Deen is finally heading to The Today Show to have a one-on-one with Matt Lauer. Last week, Deen left Lauer hanging, after excerpts from her deposition in a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former employee were released. Deen admitted in the proceedings to having used the N-word.
The NBC morning chatfest originally had Deen scheduled as a guest on June 21. However, the show was left in a lurch after the former Food Network star’s PR team claimed she could not appear due to “exhaustion.” Lauer stated to viewers on air Monday,

Food Network star and celebrity chef Paula Deen skipped out on a planned appearance on The Today Show, in the aftermath of reportedly admitting to using racial slurs in the past.
Matt Lauer reported Friday, Deen cancelled her planned “no restrictions” interview with him, claiming "exhaustion." Food Network's Bobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction won for Outstanding Culinary Program at tonight's Daytime Emmy Awards. This marks the first award for the series, and only the second award for Flay ever. Flay gave a shout out to wife, Law & Order: SVU' Stephanie March, and his mother-in-law who he joked would, "kill him" for not giving her a plug as well.
