Showtime Drops The Guillotine on The Borgias

The epic saga of papal backstabbing and incestuous relations, The Borgias, has been canceled. The series was not renewed for a fourth season, nor did Showtime order the proposed, two-hour, stand-alone movie. The June 16 Season 3 finale, “The Prince,” will also serve as a series finale. READ MORE

Prospect Park Bringing Scripted Series About Salem Witch Trials to WGN America

It looks like Prospect Park is growing its presence in primetime. The production company behind All My Children and One Life to Live and primetime series Royal Pains and Wilfred, has a new project in development. WGN America announced today it has ordered 13 episodes of Salem, by Fox 21, Prospect Park and producers Brannon Braga and Adam Simon.
Set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, SALEM explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of this infamous period in American history. In SALEM, witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem. The show, which centers on an epic romance wrapped around this explosive revelation, delivers a bold new vision of Salem – and an even bolder new vision of witches. READ MORE
