Tonight's the night, webisoap watchers! Daytime grad Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady, Days of Our Lives; ex-Rick, The Bold and the Beautiful) makes his debut on the outrageously entertaining SFN webisoap DeVanity.
Lowder will be playing the role of Andrew Regis, a spoiled, mega-rich schemer, hellbent on seizing control of the struggling DeVanity jewelry dynasty from Jason DeVanity (series creator Michael Caruso). Anyone who recalls Lowder's camptastic villainy as Rick Forrester opposite Ron Moss' Ridge on The Bold and the Beautiful knows this is a role he was born to play. DeVanity airs at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST exclusively on www.sfntv.com. Watch a trailer for Season 2 after the jump!
For those of you who have been salivating over the trailers and teasers for the upcoming webisoap River Ridge— like I have—there's some amazing news to report! Guiding Light and All My Children alum Beth Ehlers, who is one of the stars of the series, recently revealed on Indie Intertube that River Ridge will be joining the delicious, sudsy treat DeVanity on The St. John Fisher Network (SFN)!
Oh hell yes. The Season 2 trailer for DeVanity is out on SFN-TV, and as if I already couldn't wait for Michael Caruso's raunchy, sinful, camptastic sudser to return, I am now full on SALIVATING for it!
DeVanity is the comic saga of an insanely dysfunctional, megarich, jewelry dynasty headed up by Jason DeVanity (Caruso). Jason is married to scheming, blonde, bitch-goddess Lara (Alexis Zibolis), whom he wed to save the family business.
When he isn't running the empire his adopted father left in his stewardship, or wondering what happened to his missing-in-action first wife, Jason is kept busy playing referee/gatekeeper for his depraved, adopted siblings: accused rapist Byron (Chris Parke), potential murderess Jackie (Erin Buckley) — who is sleeping with Bryon—and coke whore Bianca (Katie Caprio), who is married to Jason's best friend Alex Roth (Mike Dirksen), not that it stopped her from giving Byron a blow job, while her sister and husband walked in on them, in order to prevent Byron from spilling some of her nasty secrets last season!
This time around, Days of Our Lives and The Bold and The Beautiful star Kyle Lowder—who even The Soup's Joel McHale knows excels at campy, soap nastiness—joins as Jason's arch nemesis Andrew Regis, who is out to seize control of DeVanity. That's Lowder's former B&B grandma Robin Riker as Anjelica Roth and Alana Stewart as Lara's venomous mother Claudia. Watch the sizzling trailer for Season 2 of DeVanity after the jump!
Okay soap fans, you've heard me rave about a LOTof webisoaps over the years, but I think I've finally found "The One" for fans of classic, campy, dishy melodramas like Dynasty, Melrose Place, The Bold and the Beautiful and One Life to Live. From the slightly warped-yet-wonderfully wicked mind of Michael Caruso comes DeVanity, a web sudser about a shockingly dysfunctional jewelry dynasty, comprised of an incestuous pack of adopted siblings, warring over control of the company their father left them.
DeVanity stars Caruso in the lead role of Jason DeVanity, a man trying desperately to keep his siblings in line and compay afloat, while enduring a marriage of inconvenience to bitch goddess Lara Müller DeVanity (Alexis Zibolis). Jason's brother Byron (Chris Parke) resents Jase being in control of the family's destiny, and will do anything to gain control of DeVanity for himself — even screw his own sister! Okay, so they're adopted. It's still wrong on so many levels!
Then there are the DeVanity sisters, Jackie (Erin Buckley) and Bianca DeVanity Roth (Katie Caprio), who share a lethal secret about what happened to Jason's true love—and the sister of Bianca's husband Alex Roth (Mike Dirksen).
With razor sharp, bitchtastic dialogue, intriguing, intricately woven, hilarious plots, focused on a small core group of characters, DeVanity could prove the webisoap to beat, or at the very least cause several others to step of their games something fierce!
Season 2 of DeVanity, featuring Special Guest Star Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady, Days of Our Lives; ex-Rick, The Bold and the Beautiful), premieres in January 2012. Until then, check out episodes from Season 1 after the jump!
The Bold and the Beautiful’s Kyle Lowder has a new side gig to keep him busy. Lowder will be appearing in the second season of the web soap DeVanity, for a three-episode arc as a villain. In a press release for the series, creator Michael Caruso reveals it will be a bit of a reunion.
“Kyle and I actually went to college together along with Mike Dirksen (Alex Roth) and Erin Buckley (Jackie DeVanity), so it feels like a reunion of old friends more than anything else. I am thrilled and honored that he has agreed to be a part of DeVanity, and I know he’s going to make an incredible addition to the cast.”
