No. 15: The Graysons, Revenge
Retribution is a dish best served over the holidays, if you're a member of the Grayson clan on ABC's smash primetime soap Revenge. Blackmail, corporate espionage, insider trading and not-quite-fatal tumbles off balconies could all be on the gourmet menu, but for the chance to break holiday bread with Queen Victoria (Madeleine Stowe), we'd risk it.
Hollyweird is reeling this afternoon over news that power couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are divorcing. Of course, since all roads lead back to daytime television, I had to dig up the clip of Cruise flat, freaking out about the Dawson's Creek starlet on Oprah Winfrey's couch back in 2005.
Here's hoping Cruise's next wife will make him jump just as high. Relive one of daytime's most insane moments after the jump!
As The World Turns and Guiding Light grad John Wesley Shipp wants soap lovers to know his new gig playing Eddie Ford on One Life to Live won't be anything like his primetime stint as James Van Der Beek's cuckholded daddy on Dawson's Creek. Here's what he says in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest:
"You will be horrified by what Mitch Leery has become! This is the anti-Mitch Leery if ever there was a part," laughs Shipp of Eddie."
The man who put the Dawson in The WB's overly-verbose Creek, James Van Der Beek, has signed on to costar in Eva Adams, an hour-long vehicle for Fox about an egomanical, chauvanistic sports agent who is transformed into a woman via a witch's spell. Van Der Beek will play a frat boy who is best friends with the reluctant title tranny, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hmmm, this project sure sounds an awful lot like Switch, the 1991 big screen comedy starring a pre-billion dollar divorcee status Ellen Barkin and Jimmy Smits. In that timeless (read: ridiculous) tale, Barkin played a—you guessed it—egomaniacal, chauvanistic man who is killed then brought back to celluloid life as a she, only to end up knocked up by his/her best friend played by Smits. And I thought As The World Turns went all out to avoid telling a gay love story.
Since it was a hit last week... here we go again. Remember, comment away and if there's a show we're not covering that you'd like to get the SCOOP on, let me know!
Last week's big winner was 90210... this week, not so much to SCOOP on. Brenda Walsh will make her return to the zip code for two more episodes. Look for Ms. Walsh in the 11th and 12th episodes.
How about a little One Tree Hill? One of my personal favorites is getting a visit from another fave of mine. Dawson! James Van der Beek of Dawson's Creek fame is going back to North Carolina for a guest spot on OTH. DC used to shoot in the same little NC town that OTH now calls home. Remember I mentioned a producer who wants to turn Lucas' book into a movie? Van der Beek will play the director. I also mentioned last week that One Tree Hill will be around for a seventh season and it looks like the cast has signed on as well. All but one that is. According to the SCOOP, Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) has not signed on for a seventh run. Will he? It looks like he will as Michael Ausiello over at EW says they've given the actor some time behind the camera and behind the scenes. READ MORE
