Dallas to Drill For Oil and Drama For a Third Season on TNT
By Luke Kerr on April 30, 2013Fantastic news for fans of TNT’s Dallas. The cable network announced it has renewed Dallas for a 15-episode third season. Season 3 will kick off in early 2014.
"Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.'s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted."
Victoria Principal’s Pam Ewing “Unequivocally Dead” on TNT’s Dallas
By Luke Kerr on April 17, 2013
In case Dallas fans didn't get the message, when the soap revealed Pamela Barnes Ewing 1.0 (Victoria Principal) was long dead in the Season 2 finale, the serial's showrunner is confirming the character has gone to the big Oil Baron's Ball in the Sky.
In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, Dallas executive producer Cynthia Cidre stated the iconic character is “unequivocally dead.” Here's an excerpt:
TV Guide Magazine: When did you make the decision to kill Pam?
Cynthia Cidre: We were probably going to let [the mystery] continue for years on end. Then there were too many questions around it and a little too much drama for us after Victoria Principal's statement. (On March 1, Principal released a statement saying, "I cannot be held responsible for any choices made by producers once I left Dallas, but I do take responsibility for my decision not to risk tarnishing Bobby and Pam's love story with a desperate reappearance.) And so we decided it was best to put it to rest so that there would be no more questions.
TV Guide Magazine: Just so we are clear, Pam is now unequivocally dead?
Cidre: Unequivocally dead.
Jesse Metcalfe on a Dallas Appearance by Victoria Principal: "It's a Possibility For Season 3"
By Jamey Giddens on April 12, 2013
Victoria Principal broke the hearts of many old-school Dallas fans, when she revealed she had no plans of reprising the role of Pamela Barnes Ewing for the TNT update of the classic primetime soap. Could things have changed?
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood Live, Jesse Metcalfe, who plays Pam and Bobby's (Patrick Duffy) adopted son Christopher, said mama could be coming home in Season 3!
“It’s a possibility for Season 3, but, it’s not gonna happen in Season 2.”
I guess that means the mystery woman in Switzerland won't turn out to be the original Barnes girl. I wonder if it's Cliff (Ken Kercheval) and Pam's whackadoodle of a sister Katherine Wentworth (Morgan Brittany)? Sure, Cliff told his daughter Pamela (Julie Gonzalo) that her aunt had died, but it wouldn't be the first time someone returned from the dead on a soap! Watch the interview after the jump.

Has Dallas Been Renewed For a Third Season?
By Luke Kerr on April 09, 2013
Will TNT’s Dallas be drilling for more oil and drama in a third season? Patrick Duffy confirmed the continuation of the storied franchise for another year, according to New York Daily News.
Despite so-so ratings, “Dallas” 2.0 will be back for a third season and the show has a funeral to thank for its new life, Duffy said.
But Duffy, who plays J.R.’s brother Bobby Ewing, said, “A network like TNT and Warner Brothers look at the trend. ... They are ecstatic with what ‘Dallas’ is doing and as long as we continue that in the demographics of 18-40, we are their golden child.”
