Ex-Good Morning America news anchor and 20/20 co-host Chris Cuomo won't be able to hit the snooze button for much longer. Cuomo has been tapped to co-host CNN's new morning show with Kate Bolduan. Michaela Pereira, late of KTLA Morning News, will serve as news anchor for the program.

"I've been looking forward to this announcement since I first joined CNN," said President of CNN Worldwide Jeff Zucker in a press release. “Chris, Kate and Michaela are a dynamic team that will give our viewers in America a new way to start their day. We were floored with excitement when we saw Chris and Kate together on screen, and by adding Michaela to the mix we feel we have something very special. Is CNN's Jeff Zucker interested in snapping up The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck? According to Page Six, the cable suit wants the talking head to join the CNN family.

We hear CNN honcho Jeff Zucker is interested in seeing her join his cable channel. A source told us, “They’re definitely interested.”

If things turn bad for Matt Lauer at Today it appears he may already have another hosting gig waiting in the wings. According to the New York Post, Lauer is atop the list of potential replacements for Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, who is expected to leave the show in 2016. CNN’s Anderson Cooper is also in the running for the job.

According to sources with knowledge of the internal discussions, Sony is also strongly considering Anderson Cooper — whose contract with CNN reportedly ends next year — for the job.

But right now, Lauer’s name is at the top of the list, several sources say.

Ann Curry can’t seem to catch a break these days. Despite reports CNN was eyeing the former Today co-host for a gig, TMZ is reporting the cabler's head honcho Jeff Zucker is not interested in Curry! A source told TMZ:

Ann has been sainted because of what happened to her [on "Today"].  The fact is ... she definitely can't carry a prime time show.

Is Jeff Zucker already trying to bring some of his old Today magic to ratings-impaired CNN? According to the New York Post, Zucker wants to bring Ann Curry to CNN’s 8 p.m. hour, as a lead-in for Christiane Amanpour. Reportedly,

“Jeff wants a headliner like Rachel Maddow or Bill O’Reilly in prime time,” a source says. “He cannot allow the low ratings at CNN to continue . . . so he can’t hire a nobody. Curry fits that CNN-smarty-pants-foreign-affairs type.”
