We know E!'s late night comedians love themselves some soaps, if for no other reason than to spoof them! One Chelsea Lately comic is trying to figure out how General Hospital's Sam McCall Morgan was at the Coffee Bean Saturday morning, when she is supposed to be at the Nurses Ball. Tweeted Sarah Colonna:
He may have won a slew of Primetime Emmys for his work on Breaking Bad, but Bryan Cranston still remembers the devastation of being fired from ABC Daytime's Loving — before he had a chance to quit! READ MORE
Thursday night was Suds Night on Cable. While All My Children's Susan Lucci was being fawned over by Andy Cohen on Bravo, General Hospital was on the radar of Chelsea Handler. The comedian opened her hit E! talk show Chelsea Lately by ripping the camptastic catfight between Carly Corinthos Jacks (Laura Wright) and Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) that recently happened in fictional Port Charles, NY.
While I'm sure some soap fans are pissed that Handler called Wright and Sullivan "botoxed bitches", I think anytime a daytime soap is featured on E! or Bravo—two cablers that boast oodles of the 18-34-year-old eyeballs soaps desperately need—it's a win for the genre! If a few of Handler's diehard viewers roll out of bed today—no doubt following gnarly vodka hangovers—and search their cable guides for GH, in order to find out what Handler was making fun of, so be it! Plus, it really was all in good fun, no? Watch the clip below and judge for yourself!
Oh my damn...my favorite late night talk show host Chelsea Handler went in on One Life to Live's Starr (Kristen Alderson) and James (Nic Robuck) on Chelsea Lately. Usually I get my knickers in a twist when mainstream programs diss soaps, but Handler's style shows she's in on the joke and let's face it, that was a looong list of cheestastic reasons James gave for not schtupping Starr! Thanks StefanieM23 for the tip via Twitter! Watch the clip after the jump. READ MORE
Betty White dropped by Chelsea Lately to discuss her work at the zoo, her upcoming movie The Proposal and Cloris Leachman calling her a slut.
Rod Blagojevich has been making the rounds on the morning talk shows to help garner public support as he battles to keep his job as Governor. Of course Chelsea Handler is the one to point out one of the most hilarious part of his media tour, which happened to involve The View's Barbara Walters.
