How did popular soap star Michael Muhney react to the news he was being let go from The Young and the Restless? The actor tells Huffington Post Canada he was stunned speechless. Peep the excerpt:
HuffPost Canada TV: What the hell?! Are you as shocked as we are? What happened?
Michael Muhney: I was informed Monday night at work. I was told "We're going to be letting you go." Everyone knows I always have something to say. I'm a chatterbox, laugh all you want, but I was rendered speechless for about five minutes. I didn't utter a word. There was truly a moment when I thought I was having a very vivid, surreal dream and I couldn't wake up so I could tell people I was having an awful dream about "Y&R" letting me go. So, unless this is a really long nap I'm taking, it's not a dream and it's really happening.
I was told at almost the exact same time my aunt found out she had officially been diagnosed with breast cancer. Almost within the same hour. So, that has helped me with perspective, in terms of what's happening in the real world. We're just talking about one guy who lost a job. Hey, there's no business like show business. So I want to say, first and foremost, there are more important things people are dealing with in the world today. READ MORE
Outspoken and insanely-gifted, Michael Muhney has definitely shaken things up in daytime since joining The Young and the Restless. Well, not anymore. The actor stunned the soapyverse by tweeting:
In her juicy memoir, the late Jeanne Cooper revealed several scandalous details about life behind-the-scenes at CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless. One claim made in Not Young, Still Restless had Kate Linder going to the brass to ask if Cooper's Kay Chancellor could be killed off, with maid Esther Valentine (Linder) inheriting the dowager queen's fortune!
Linder denied the allegation in a recent Huffington Post Canada interview. Here's an excerpt:
Finally, were you surprised that in Jeanne's memoir, "Not Young, Still Restless" that she accused you of going behind her back to the writers to suggest Kay die and Esther inherit everything?
I was surprised! Some of that was hearsay she heard. I would never suggest killing off Katherine Chancellor! I couldn't even speak when I read what she wrote. We talked about it after I read it. I told her it wasn't true. It was unfortunate that she thought that all these years. I would never, ever do anything like that. It's a beautifully written book but there are some things that aren't correct in the book. READ MORE
