Entering The Gates

ABC has jumped on the vampire and werewolf bandwagon with their new show The Gates. The pilot episode, which aired Sunday night, can be viewed online for those of you who missed it or if you’re like Luke and your DVR messed up yet again. Whatever the reason, it’s a must see and I’m sure those of you who did catch the premiere, agree with me. A little blend of Twilight and Wisteria Lane (Desperate Housewives), The Gates is sure to have plenty of twists, turns and plots to keep viewers glued all season long.

The Monahan’s move from the big city lights of Chicago to the secured suburbs of The Gates where Nick Monahan (Frank Grillo, a Guiding Light alum) is the new Chief of Police. What has the Monahan’s and their two children relocating? Chief Monahan found himself in a bit of trouble back in Chicago as a homicide detective and the family apparently needs a fresh start with a less workaholic dad. The Radcliff’s, however, thrust Chief Monahan into a missing person’s investigation his first day on the job. READ MORE

Live+7 Benefits Struggling and Strong

The Live Feed is reporting that the DVR Live+7 used by primetime TV has helped a slew of TV shows achieve marked gains in ratings. Life, Lipstick Jungle, Heroes, 90210, Grey's Anatomy, Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice, Smallville, Prison Break, Boston Legal, Terminator and Chuck all had viewership gains of 17 - 36%.

No wonder several of these smaller shows have been picked up by their networks. What I don't understand is why the ratings for daytime soaps, which require an even larger commitment to watch, aren't calculated on Live+7? Imagine the percentage of viewership increases the soaps could have if their ratings were calculated with Live+7?

Visit The Live Feed to find out how much your favorite show's ratings increased with Live+7.

Star Jones Sets Sights on Comeback

Britney Spears and Star Jones have something in common. They are both trying to make a comeback. The former The View host talks about regaining her confidence in the November issue of Essence, which is available on October 12th.

"Star is back...I have now proven to myself that whatever life throws at me, I can catch it and I can throw it right back. I'm confident again."

Do you think that Star Jones can make a comeback? If so where would you like to see her land? Another talk show? A TV legal analyst? On a legal drama like Boston Legal?
