Kim Delaney's "Game Changer" Cable Soap "Army Wives" Renewed

Three cheers for All My Children vet and one of the most strikingly-beautiful brunettes around, Kim Delaney (ex-Jenny). Lifetime has renewed her mega hit sudser Army Wives for a third season, according to TV Guide's Matt Mitovich.

Based on the non-fiction book Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives by Tanya Biank, Army Wives is a refreshingly-realistic look into the trials and tribulations of the women and men who support our nation's soldiers.

Brilliance or Folly?

Army Wives is back for it's second season and doing gangbusters in the ratings for Lifetime.

TV Guide sat down with Army Wives star and All My Children alum Kim Delaney to visit with her about the new season of her hit show and in the interview asked her whether or not she would return to Pine Valley.

Here is the quote.

TV Guide: Now that your old All My Children costars are recreating their characters, we were wondering if you've ever been approached to bring Jenny back from the dead?
Delaney: Uh-huh. I would do it. I love Agnes Nixon. I love the whole show. But I can't [now] — I have no time!

Of course this begs the question. Would we the fans even want to have the character of Jenny back? Could The Powers That Be write a return for a character who died so famously? I love Kim on Army Wives but I'm just not sure it is worth it to go back and undo such a noted event. Last time All My Children did something like that we ended up with Erica's unabortion and we all know how that's turned out.

Would you like Kim Delaney back as Jenny?

General Hospital: Seamus Dever on Army Wives!

You may not have been a fan of his character, but there is no doubting that the man can act.  General Hospital's Seamus Dever (ex-Dr. Ian Devlin) left Port Charles in a body bag but he's turning up on Lifetime's hit show Army Wives in hospital scrubs.

Seamus plays Dr. Chris "Getti" Ferlinghetti (say that five times fast) and will mix it up with Catherine Bell's character Denise Sherwood.  Will Denise cheat while her husband is off in Iraq?  Looks like Dr. Getti is a channeling his inner Jason Morgan and riding a motorcycle.  For more information on Army Wives check out the official site.

Kim Delaney's "Army Wives" Breaks Ratings Records

The second season premiere of Kim Delaney's Army Wives debuted to a Lifetime network record of 4.5 million viewers. SPOILER ALERT: If you still have the season premier on your DVR and haven't watched it yet skip the rest of this post. The former All My Children star, whose AMC character Jenny Gardner died in a jet ski explosion, was dealing the aftermath of another explosion on Army Wives and the death of someone close to the main characters.

As someone who never watched Kim Delaney's time on All My Children I'd love to read any memories that you might have of that era.

I tried finding an actual clip of the jet ski explosion but this was the closest I came.
