She's in the army now! TVLine is reporting the diva of daytime Susan Lucci is heading to Army Wives. The All My Children legend is set to reunite with her former costar Kim Delaney. La Lucci will play a retired army general's wife, who dishes out some advice to Claudia (Delaney) when she deals with a rival. Lucci has signed on for two episodes of Army Wives that is slated to air in season six.

By the time All My Children ends its network television run on Sept. 23, there will be more not-quite-dead people and/or ghosts roaming around than on Vampire Diaries, True Blood and Torchwood: Miracle Day combined. The latest former Pine Valley denizen to make noise about wanting to come back is Army WivesKim Delaney, whose beloved heroine Jenny Gardner Nelson blew up on a jet ski over two and a half decades ago.

Delaney told ABC Soaps In Depth she'd love to reprise the role, that is if Lifetime—which Delaney says prevented her from attending the recent Daytime Emmys—would let her!

 "I'm going to work on it," she insists. "It's a good idea. And there's still time. I should call [AMC creator] Agnes Nixon."

Harry Hamlin Returns to Army Wives in Recurring Role

The first season of Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna’s TV Land reality series Harry Loves Lisa may have ended, but it looks like Hamlin won’t be have to worry about keeping busy. According to Deadline, Hamlin will recur as Professor Chandler in the new season of Lifetime’s Army Wives. He originated the role during Army Wive's fourth season, which ended in August. Army Wives returns to Lifetime for a 13 -pisode fifth season in 2011.

Lifetime Re-enlists Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva For New Seasons

Lifetime has awarded Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva the most prestigious award any network can bestow upon a series—renewals. According to Zap2it, Lifetime has picked up each series for another 13-episode season. This marks Army Wives' fifth season and Drop Dead Diva’s third.

Gilmore Girls alum Kelly Bishop, who also appeared on All My Children, As The World Turns and One Life to Live, will also be appearing on an upcoming episode of Army Wives, says TV Guide. Reportedly Bishop will playing "the wife of a late, great state senator, in town to attend a building-naming ceremony. Charged with entertaining the special guest, Claudia Joy and Denise come to realize the not-so-weeping widow's secret — that she's a cougar!"

Army Wives returns to Lifetime on June 7.
