Will Martha Byrne's Alexis Jordan Retain The Title of H.B.I.C. on Anacostia?
By Jamey Giddens on December 19, 2011
Alexis Jordan (Martha Byrne) has grown weary of dealing with inept, lower level madams on this week's installment of Anthony Anderson's Anacostia. The question is, will Lexie be able to get rid of Dominique (Pasha Diallo), before Dom and her henchmen can dig up enough dirt to oust the Beltway Madam?
Elsewhere in town, Sean (Anderson) is worried about having kissed an old flame, as he prepares to wed his back-from-the-dead lover. Tortured, ex-supermodel Nicole (Kena Hodges) is on the brink of falling off the wagon, while another Anacostian familiar with substance abuse drama, Salina (Chante Bowser), is dealing with a hellacious community service stint. Then there's the black Karen Fairgate of the D.C. area, aka Mia (Tamieka Chavis), who snaps on a nasty neighbor as she awaits the results of her biopsy. Tricks Better Have Martha Byrne's Money in the Latest Episode of Anacostia!
By Jamey Giddens on December 02, 2011
The black Knots Landing aka Anthony Anderson's mocha-hot webisoap Anacostia is back with its second episode of the season, and As The World Turns/General Hospital alum Martha Byrne is continuing to serve up malevolent fun as nononsense madam Alexis. After seeing Alexis check Dominique (Pasha Diallo), I am starting to believe this ballbuster could have taught Heidi Fleiss a thing or three about business management!
On the other side of town, Sean (Anderson) is caught up in a triangle between his returned-from-the-dead true love Julian (Darnell Lamont Walker) and the nasty, male hooker his dead business partner hired to seduce him. Someone should tell Sean you can't turn a ho into a househusband!
Recovering boozehound (and my fave regular character!) Salina (Chante Bowser) is out of jail, while her pill-popping, former supermodel galpal Nicole (Kena Hodges), is being terrorized over what happened to her husband's baby. If you think those sistahs are having problems, wait 'til their girl Mia (Tamieka Chavis) lets them in on the tragic secret she's beeen hiding from the group. Why isn't this soap on BET, TV One or Logo already?! Watch after the jump!

Mental Patients, Secret Rendevous and Scandalous Neighbors on OUTRAGEOUS Black Soap Opera Anacostia!
By Jamey Giddens on October 03, 2010

The second episode of Anthony Andersons' addictive, 20-minute soap opera Anacostia premiered online this weekend. In this heart-stopping-yet hilarious installment, Mia (Tamieka Chavis), the most long-suffering heroine to hit a soap neighborhood since Valene Ewing (Joan Van Ark) on Knots Landing, stops by the funny farm to pay her BFF Sean (Edwards) a visit. Sean was institutionalized following his attempt to kill himself, after finding out his homo thug boyfriend from Season One had been paid by the villainous Michael—Mia's ex—to seduce him. Little did Sean know, his one true love, the presumed dead Julien Grey (Darnell Lamont Walker) is very much alive. You see Julian, who was once Michael's business partner, faked his own death when Michael's treachery began to threaten the lives of Sean and Mia. Um, yeah, why isn't Anderson writing for The Young and the Restless?!
Mia and Sean's homegirl Salina (Chante Bowser) is no longer seeing a battle of conscience play out between an angelic version of herself and a slightly demonic imagination of Nancy (Marion A. Akpan)— the trick who Salina caught being power driven by her husband Scott (Will Lasher) on a stairwell in last season's finale—instead she's dealing with a mysterious pair of new neighbors in this week's eppy. Something tells me this new pair just might end up making Salina fall off the wagon, not that it takes much, if you watched Season One!
To what lengths are Will and his friends willing to go to make sure no one ever finds out that Salina mowed Nancy down like a stray blade of crab grass, while drunker than Cooter Brown at a family reunion, at the end of last season? Will and Salina are my favorite Anacostia couple, so I am rooting for their soapgasmic reunion. I mean, okay, so he cheated— in public— on a dirty stairwell, humping Nancy like a dog in heat, while his wife and her friends were in another room. He's TRYING to make ammends, dammit! The arrival of Salina's troublesome cousin from down South definitely won't make these scandalous liaisons get resolved any easier!
The group's fourth bestie, former supermodel and recovering drug addict Nicole (Kena Hodges) makes her first appearance of the new season. Why is Nicole having a secret rendevous—all outside in a park during the daytime—with her former football star hubby Andre's (Rabon Hutcherson II) arch rival?
SPOILER ALERT: The best, most cheestastic, laugh-until-your-side-aches-while-actually-being-terrified scene occurs when Mia and a freshly-escaped-from-the-nuthouse Sean figure out who killed Michael. All I gotta say is "WHHHHHY Mia, WHHHHY?! Check it all out after the jump, then come back and let's dish in the comments! READ MORE

Calling all folks who are sick and tired of begging Maria Arena Bell to start writing for the people who don't need Sony's free gift certificates to the nearest tanning salon on The Young and the Restless. Stop asking Ri Ri for scraps and turn on your laptop! Don't even sweat that General Hospital did all that PR for Maya Ward, only to end up not doing hot poop with her. Why scratch out your scalp over One Life to Live's Llanview becoming White-view, when there are plenty of diverse shows who want ALL our eyeballs online! One such show is the insanely-addictive urban soap opera Anacostia, which recently began its second season. READ MORE
