Will The Mob Ever Dominate General Hospital Again?

Will the mob ever drive storylines again on General Hospital? Under head writer Ron Carlivati, fans have noticed a huge, storytelling shift away from hitmen and dons. This is something GH lovers claimed they wanted on message boards and in blog comments for years, but what does Maurice Benard (Sonny) make of the changes?

The Marin Independent Journal spoke with Benard to find out if the dimpled, dapper don will reign supreme once again in Port Charles.

Q Under the new regime, the mob stories have been de-emphasized. Are you a fan of that move?

A At this point, I think we need to get back to it a little bit more. On the other hand, I think it's great that we've been able to bring a little more balance to the character (of Sonny) and to put him in the position of having to fight for the woman he loves. I do think we can be doing some more with the mob, but they (the producers and writers) know what they're doing.

After a forever-long hiatus, Scandal was finally back!  The Case of the Week involved Lisa Edelstein as a successful CEO, Sarah, who needed to bring in Olivia Pope & Associates when an old extramarital affair was discovered by the press.  The man in question was Judge Randall, the Grant Administration's newly named Supreme Court Justice nomination.

Cyrus (Jeff Perry) turned into a pit bull, and promised to destroy Olivia (Kerry Washington) and her client if she didn’t back off.  Ms. Pope would not be threatened, but she did seem to go soft on the Grant Administration. In the meantime, Cyrus ruined Sarah’s reputation by painting her as a sex-crazed stalker in the media. READ MORE

Which Medical Hunk Should April Choose on Grey’s Anatomy?

It looks like April (Sarah Drew) will be facing some tough choices and conflicted emotions on Grey’s Anatomy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she'll soon be struggling with her desire for sex and her decision to wait until marriage before having it again. When Matthew (Justin Bruening, ex-Jamie, All My Children) returns, April has to pick between him and Jackson (Jesse Williams).

"Jackson's not the right guy for her because he doesn't see the world the same way she does and their relationship didn't work because she was feeling guilty for something he never would and that creates a lot of problems," Drew says. "He knows her better than anyone on the planet and they care for each other and he can challenge the way she sees the world, where as Matthew is a complete partnership with how he looks at the world. Both are great and it's a tough choice."

In other Grey’s Anatomy news, TV Guide reports Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) are headed for sexytown. According to TV Line, Grey’s Anatomy’s ninth season finale airs on May 16.

Fresh Prince's Janet Hubert READS Wendy Williams in an Open Letter!

Don’t expect former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air mom Janet Hubert to invite talk show host Wendy Williams over for a girl's brunch anytime soon. The All My Children and One Life to Live alum tore Williams a new one, after watching former onscreen daughter Tatyana Ali be grilled by Williams on her self-titled talk show, about what exactly made Hubert leave the 90’s sitcom.  Hubert stated:

Wendy Williams, or whatever you are supposed to be, I’m not quite sure. I’m writing you yet again, to appeal to your sense of womanhood or manhood as some suggest. Please close your mouth about things that you know nothing of.

Now, I watched your show to see dear Tatyana Ali sadly to say, fall into your trap. She even brought pictures of our days on the show from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. You know most people watch you just to see what heinous things your mouth will say compared to what an overflowing volcano will spew forth on that day. Now perhaps other black women have allowed you to berate them and continued to support you in this manner of madness and rewarding hatefulness. It seems to have become the norm and has taken over our society completely. But I, Janet Hubert, sat there and watched you tell the world that I was not a nice mother. I’m thinking to myself, the only person who has the right to say that is my child. So I sat there and watched you like some devilish sinkhole swallow up Tatyana Ali You reduced her to a child sitting their attempting to keep some semblance of dignity about her as you pried and invaded her life until you got what you wanted.
