Love it or Hate it: Blonde vs. Black

Usually when we do a "Love it or Hate it" it's based on what someone is wearing, but considering AnnaLynne McCord's, the bane of 90210, hair went from blonde to black, I figured we'd see which color you prefer.

Blonde or Black?

Grading the Nu90210

When the new 90210 debuted earlier this fall I was less than impressed, but I gave it chance and watched the first three episodes. Unfortunately, it just didn't live up to the bar set by Gossip Girl or even the overly dramatic One Tree Hill. Unlike GG and OTH, most of 90210's young cast just didn't seem to gel, appeared out of their depth and in the case of AnnaLynne McCord were just plain awful.

Imagine my surprise when, after being desperate for original programming over the holidays, I tuned into reruns of recent 90210 episodes and discovered that the show had improved. McCord is still awful, but the show has improved. Jessica Walter is still the best part of the show and Jessica Stroup is still the best of the young actresses, but the writing has improved and the storylines no longer feel like a toothache after eating cotton candy. The improvements might just be enough to get me to add it back to my DVR.

Now that you've watched the first half of 90210's season what grade would you give the show?

Marcil Mourns Loss of Reality Show Contestant

General Hospital and Lipstick Jungle star Vanessa Marcil spoke out toTV Guide.com's Matt Mitovich about the sudden passing of Todd Homme, one of the contestants on her Lifetime reality competition Blush: The Search for the Next Great Make-up Artist. Homme, who was 23, died Dec. 13 in his home of yet-to-be-determined causes, Mitovich reports.

Marcil shared she was "totally floored" by Homme's death.

The interesting thing is that I, for some reason, had this huge connection with Todd — which of course now is really sad. But something about him was just really kind and beautiful and open."

Our thoughts are with Marcil, as well as Homme's family and friends.

One Tree Hill Creator Tapped To Pen New Melrose Place

The CW didn't have to look too far to find a write for the pilot of it's upcoming Melrose Place update. The Hollywood Reporter revealed One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn will write the pilot, then likely turn it over to different show runners, much like how Veronica Mars frontman Rob Thomas wrote the pilot for the network's 90210 spinoff before turning it over to Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah of Freaks and Geeks fame.

Tori Spelling Back In Talks with 90210

The on-again-off-again contract talks between Tori Spelling and 90210 are back on again. E! Online is reporting that 90210 producers are "actively working" to get Spelling back on screen as Donna Martin. Reps for both parties tell E! that "nothing is confirmed."

Which Boy...or Girl will Lauren London's Character Get With on 90210?

TV Guide.com's Matt Mitovich is reporting that Christina, the sexy cheerleader who was trying to get some play with Tristan Wilds' Dixon recently, will be revealed to be bisexual in an upcoming epsiode of 90210. Now this could be interesting. A black, bisexual character on a network teen drama, played by a popular black film actress like Lauren London (This Christmas, ATL) is definitely a first and with all the Prop Hate drama going, this storyline— if done right— could help make The CW soap Watercooler TV.
