666 Park Avenue
The promos for 666 Park Avenue make the series look like it’s filled with mystery, intrigue and beautifully-evil people. ABC is pairing it on Sunday’s with Once Upon a Time and Revenge, which, if you’ve watched the combined trailer after the jump, seems like the perfect combination for success. Okay, forgive this momentary lapse of extreme fanboy behavior, but...YEEEEEEEK!TV Guide is reporting one of my all-time favorite soap opera super bitches, Wendy Moniz, is joining the cast of ABC's upcoming supernatural sudser 666 Park Avenue!
Soap fans last saw Moniz playing the ball-breaking mayor on the final season of One Life to Live. For this Guiding Light watcher, however, she will always be the most gleefully hateful (and best) Dinah Marler ever!
According to TV Guide, Moniz will appear on 666 in a multi-episode arc, as a therapist named Ingrid. As if Vanessa Williams and Dave Annable being part of this cast wasn't reason enough for me to watch 666 Park Avenue, now my Dinah Marler, er Wendy Moniz is in it too?! Watch a clip of Moniz as bitch-nasty Dinah, opposite the equally incredible Maeve Kinkead (Vanessa) from Guiding Light, below!
Guiding Light alum Aubrey Dollar (ex-Marina Cooper) has landed a recurring role on ABC’s upcoming supernatural, hotel drama 666 Park Avenue, according to TV Guide. Dollar will portray Annie, “an obituary writer who yearns to be a real journalist” who appears in the fourth episode.
666 Park Avenue, which stars Vanessa Williams and Terry O’Quinn, premieres September 30.
Nancy Lee Grahn and Anthony Geary were among the General Hospital stars who celebrated at the 2012 Disney/ABC Summer TCA Party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on July 27. Their costar Kelly Monaco, who will be competing in the upcoming season of Dancing with the All-Stars against Pamela Anderson and Drew Lachey, also attended.
Former soap stars Jonathan Jackson and Hayden Panettiere, who star in ABC’s country drama Nashville also joined in the festivities. See more photos of current and former soap stars at the 2012 Disney/ABC Summer TCA Party after the jump!
There may be less soap operas to watch in the daytime, but primetime and cable is about to spill over with frothy, new suds! Here's a list of 11 upcoming soaps that have us ready to do a little scrubbing!
No. 11: Hollywood Heights, Nick-at-Night
You can bet displaced, former daytime soap opera professionals—not to mention the genre’s fans—will be paying close attention to the success or failure of Hollywood Heights this summer. If HH proves to be a hit, it could lead to a slew of similar five-day-a-week, English-launguage sudsers!
Nick-at-Nite's attempt to create, produce and market a daily soap opera at night has a lot of sudsy cred. The series is based on a telenova and is written and produced by former daytimers Josh Griffith and Jill Farren Phelps. Several daytime actors are also in the cast, including One Life to Live alum Brittany Underwood in the lead role of aspiring songwriter Loren.
Nick’s Viacom cousin TeenNick has had success with this form via imported daily dramas Degrassi and House of Anubis. Here’s hoping they can do it again when Hollywood Heights premeires at 9 pm EST, June 18 on Nick-at-Nite. Like Hollywood Heights on Facebook!
