Hellcats: Needs A Little Practice
By Regan Cellura on September 09, 2010
I’m all about the cheese and I’m not talking about Brie. I am a huge fan of what I like to call the teeny bop shows. They’re my bread and butter. So a show like Hellcats, right up my alley. I must make a confession first. I saw the promos running on The CW and thought this was some after school-like, Lifetime-ish movie The CW was running in a bad timeslot. I had no idea it was an actual series for the fall until I paid closer attention. The production value of the promo seemed cheap and never did I think this was a series coming to The CW. Some may knock this network, but it has given me some of my most beloved and cherished series to date. READ MORE
Glee Sings Its Way to 19 Emmy Nods
By Jamey Giddens on July 08, 2010
Those horny, high schoolers from Glee have a lot to be singing about this morning. The FOX megahit led the nominations for the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards. Glee grabbed 19 nominations in all, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Oustanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Lea Michele), Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series (Matthew Morrison), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Jane Lynch) and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Chris Colfer).
Glee will face off against ABC's Modern Family, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, Showtime's Nurse Jackie and NBC's 30 Rock and The Office for Outstanding Comedy Series this August. Yeah, you read that right, the final, stellar season of Ugly Betty wasn't nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, nor was the underrated-yet-awesome Cougar Town.
AMC's Mad Men also scored big, netting nods for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series (January Jones), Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series (Jon Hamm), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (John Stattery) and in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, two nods, one for Christina Hendricks and a second for Elisabeth Moss.
Mad Men will compete with ABC's Lost, AMC's Breaking Bad, Showtime's Dexter, HBO's True Blood and the CBS primetime legal sudser The Good Wife. I've already ordered a case of V to celebrate the primetime drama I hope sinks its fangs into a golden lady on Emmy night. Speaking of that bloody, good show, WTF is up with all of the True Blood actors being snubbed? Obviously voters like the show, since they nominated it for Oustanding Drama, yet I guess they think True Blood managed to be so amazing without the help of the show's phenomenal cast? The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmys will be telecast on NBC on August 29. Check out a list of the major nominees below. READ MORE

Murders Most Foul
By J Bernard Jones on May 20, 2009
Hot on the heels of my admittedly scathing review of Friday's ultra-campy, Scooby Doo meets The Munsters inspired episode of All My Children which culminated in the murder of Stuart (Not Adam) Chandler, I finally had the opportunity to catch up with Guiding Light, which had its own less heralded "Who Killed Edmund Winslow?" whodunit kick off.
Since I received a little bit of blow back for my harsh (and well-deserved) criticism of AMC, I'd like to take the opportunity to explain why Springfield's simultaneous murder mystery is infinitely superior to Pine Valley's. READ MORE
