You’ve watched the trailer for Queen Latifah’s Single Ladies and you’ve read about the half naked dudes who will appear in the VH1 series. Now you have another reason to check it out. Soaps in Depth is reporting that the former All My Children star and Dancing With the Stars contestant Aiden Turner will appear on Single Ladies as Sebastian Caliente, a model and recurring character.

"My character is Sebastian Caliente, a male model," Turner tells Soaps In Depth. "He attends this event at a clothing boutique, and has been looking at Val [played by Dash] the entire night and eventually bumps into her. He tells her he's been wanting to talk to her and asks for her number." READ MORE

If you loved the blood, sex and gore of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, get ready for more action. The Starz original series prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena premieres January 21. Developed after Blood and Sand star Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Gods of the Area stars John Hanna and Lucy Lawless and introduces viewers to several new gladiators. Also, be on the lookout for former The Young and the Restless star Marisa Ramirez’s is new character, a “body slave,” Melitta.

Meanwhile, Deadline is reporting that former Prison Break star Dominic Purcell has tested, last minute, for role as Spartacus in Spartacus: Blood and Sand season two. As a fan of Purcell from Prison Break and John Doe, I hope Purcell gets the lead. Watch a promo for the new series after the jump!

All My Children fans who have fantasized about what Aiden Turner looks like under a loin cloth may be in luck. Deadline is reporting the soap star-turned-Dancing With The Stars strutter is one of three actors vying for the lead role in Starz's hit series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Turner, along with Stephen Amell (Closing The Ring) and Liam McIntyre (The Pacific) are reportedly all being flown to New Zealand for screen tests and what not. Andy Whitfield, who originated the lead role in the series, vacated the part when his cancer came out of remission.  What do you guys think? Can Brit Turner pull off portraying the Ancient World's most famous Thracian?
