Alison Sweeney Hopeful Days of Our Lives Can "Continue to Fight the Fight"

One of daytime and primetime's busiest stars isn't ready to give up on her soap hub. In an interview with Parade magazine, The Biggest Loser's Alison Sweeney commiserated with fans of recently-cancelled sudser One Life to Live, but dug in her heels about the future of her own soap opera Days of Our Lives.

“It’s really hard to say goodbye to shows that have been a part of television for so long. As a member of Days of our Lives, I meet soap fans every day who talk about what a big part of their life it is and how they watched with their mom and their grandma. Those characters were a part of their family dynamic for their whole lives in some instances. So I know how hard it is for all those One Life to Live fans right now and how hard it is to say goodbye to something that’s been so close to their hearts.

"We’re just hopeful at Days of our Lives that we can continue to fight the fight and represent daytime and keep our characters on for as long as we possibly can. We want fans to know that we’re still there and we’re making the best show we possibly can. Hopefully NBC will believe in us and keep us on for a long time.” READ MORE

Days of Our Lives' Chandler Massey Reveals What Makes Will go Rogue in AfterElton

Scheming and manipulation are a rite of passage if you're Days of Our Lives' Will Horton (Chandler Massey). Grandma Kate (Lauren Koslow) makes it an art form. Dad Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) is no slouch in that department and his mom Sami (Alison Sweeney) is a connoisseur. It was only a matter of time before he dipped into the family pastime. So what pushes him to the dark side? AfterElton spoke with Massey about what forces Will to go after EJ (James Scott). READ MORE

Chandler Massey Dishes Will’s Coming Out Story on DAYS

In an interview with TV Guide, Days of Our Lives’ Chandler Massey previews Will’s coming out story and how his tumultuous relationship with Sami (Alison Sweeney) will impact his search for peace.

TV Guide Magazine: Why is he so worried about what Sami will think? They already have a crappy relationship and he hates her right now after he found her shtupping EJ.

Massey: Sami has her own stuff going on. She's busy with her other three kids who are always going missing or getting kidnapped. In Will's mind, she doesn't care about him enough to be a real help if he came out to her. When a kid is struggling with something this big, his mother, of all people, should sense it. She's supposed to know her child better than anyone else. In Will's case, Sami doesn't give him the maternal love he needs and that's a big reason he doesn't feel comfortable coming out to her. Sami was so young when Will was born that they sort of grew up together.

It isn’t just Will and Sami’s relationship that will factor into the story. According to the interview, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and EJ (James Scott) will provide entirely different dynamics to Will’s coming out story. While Marlena is a loving cornerstone, EJ's role is more down and dirty. When Will attempts to blackmail EJ, “EJ turns the tables on Will and threatens to reveal he's gay. It turns into this master-slave relationship.” Read the entire interview at TV Guide.

TV Guide Network Starting a 'Hollywood Moms' Club' For Alison Sweeney and Pals

I'm about to call up Dr. Lexie Carver at Salem, USA's University Hospital, because I need her to do a DNA test on Alison Sweeney. The Days of Our Lives and The Biggest Loser star has to be the long-lost daughter of the late James Brown, because she's quickly becoming the hardest working woman in Hollywood, make that the hardest working mom in Hollywood!

TV Guide Network has announced plans for a reality series entitled Hollywood Moms' Club, starring Sweeney and Ali Landry. The series would revolve around potluck dinners where the two celebs routinely entertain a rotating group of Hollywood moms. Denise Richards, Brooke Burke, Nancy O'Dell, Holly Robinson Peete, Candace Cameron Bure, Kyle Richards and Sweeney's one-time fellow Salemite Lisa Rinna have all been guests at Sweeney and Landry's events and could be appearing on the show. Somewhere, all of their nannies just booked agents to pitch their own reality show to VH1. The pilot for Hollywood Moms' Club premieres in Nov. 2011.
