No. 10: Berrenger's Department Store, Berrenger's

In 1985, NBC debuted Berrenger's, a splashy, primetime serial about a glamorous, New York City department store dynasty. The soap opera from Lynn Marie Latham and Bernard Lechowick was meant to be a competitor for ABC's Dynasty and CBS primetime sudsers Dallas, Falcon Crest and Knots Landing among others.

Unfortunately, suds lovers were only able to follow the antics of the Berrenger family, friends and foes for 13 short episodes. A pre-Generations Jonelle Allen and future Dallas and All My Children hunk Jack Scalia both appeared. Watch an NBC promo for the premiere of Berrenger's (at the 24 second mark) below!

No. 10: Edward Quartermaine, General Hospital

This week, the dysfunctional, insanely-rich Quartermaine family of Port Charles, New York will say a final farewell to patriarch Edward Quartermaine. The Sept. 2012 passing of John Ingle, who began playing the role in 1993, led the brass at General Hospital to allow Edward to die with Ingle.

GH is paying tribute to Edward and Ingle by having the beloved curmudgeon's death coincide with Thanksgiving, the Q's most infamously-disastrous holiday. Edward's grandson Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) and adopted granddaughter Skye Chandler Quartermaine (Robin Christopher) will join surviving Q's, Dr. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), Michael Corinthos III (Chad Duell), Sam McCall Morgan (Kelly Monaco), Baby Danny Morgan and fresh-from-the-dead AJ (Sean Kanan), to say goodbye to their beloved "Grandfather". No. 10: EJ DiMera, Days of Our Lives

He may have played dirty to beat incumbent Mayor of Salem, U.S.A. Abe Carver (James Reynolds), but the filthier EJ DiMera (James Scott) gets on Days of Our Lives, the more we like him! Besides, "Honest" Abe and his campaign manager Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) ended up playing just as many foul tricks as Elvis and his PR-flack-with-benefits Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) did during the nasty political battle.

What's that they say, if you can't beat 'em, cheat 'em? Jennifer Rose, your donut-making Gran would be appalled!
