DC's Top 10 Male Entertainers of 2012

No. 10: Don Diamont, The Bold and the Beautiful

It takes panache to play a royal douchebag A-hole like The Bold and the Beautiful’s Bill "Dollar Bill" Spencer. Good thing The Young and the Restless refugee Don Diamont has panache for days!

Diamont's ever-present charisma—generally exhibited via a poop-eating-grin— turned what could have been unforgiveable instances for his character (Scheming against Hope and Liam; kissing his postpartum depression-suffering wife's big sister), into opportunities to shine in 2012. No longer does this actor deserve to be called "just another pretty boy" like he was during his early years on Y&R. Sure, the Stallion is still hella pretty, but he can also act.

10 Babies Who Didn't Know Where They Were in 2012

No. 10: Jessica Heap, The Young and the Restless

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, while expecting a different result. This applies to certain soap characters. The Young and the Restless is on their third casting of Michael's (Christian LeBlanc) younger sister Eden Baldwin. It doesn't look like her predecessors left Jessica Heap a road map, because this baby definitely didn't know where she was in 2012.

Heap furrowing her brow intently, as Eden strained to recall what happened the night Ricky (Peter Porte) died made us want to watch with our hands covering our eyes, fingers spread apart just enough to witness the acting carnage. The third time definitely hasn't been the charm for Eden, or the actress playing her.

DC's 10 Worst Soap Opera Couples of 2012

No. 10: Neil and Harmony, The Young and the Restless

We're sure the brass at The Young and the Restless hoped pairing uptight, buppie Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) with another sassy, sistah from the streets would generate the same kind of heat Neil's relationship with street urchin-turned-fashionista Drucilla Barber (Victoria Rowell) accomplished in the 90's. It didn't.

Man, was it painful to watch two popular, talented soap stars like St. John as Debbi Morgan—as promiscuous, recovering crackhead Harmony— attempt to manufacture chemistry where there obviously wasn't any to be found.

DC's Top 10 Soap Opera Couples of 2012

No. 10: Molly and TJ, General Hospital

General Hospital has been giving us cute teen couples since Laura (Genie Francis) and Scotty (Kin Shriner). In 2012, the tradition continued when precocious Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos) fell hard for TJ (Tequan Richmond), the wayward charge of Shawn (Sean Blakemore). Molly and TJ have survived parental interference, hormones and toxic water, but can the YA lovebirds contend with Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) and Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan), now that they're interning at Manning Enterprises?

15 Dysfunctional Soap Opera Families We'd Go Home With For The Holidays

No. 15: The Graysons, Revenge

Retribution is a dish best served over the holidays, if you're a member of the Grayson clan on ABC's smash primetime soap Revenge. Blackmail, corporate espionage, insider trading and not-quite-fatal tumbles off balconies could all be on the gourmet menu, but for the chance to break holiday bread with Queen Victoria (Madeleine Stowe), we'd risk it.

DC's Top 5 Soap Opera Newcomers of 2012

No. 5: Robert Adamson, The Young and the Restless

From the moment we were reintroduced to sexy Lincoln Heights star Robert Adamson on Nick-at-Nite's premiere nighttime soap Hollywood Heights, we started wishing the new brass at The Young and the Restless (Who happened to be his HH bosses Jill Farren Phelps and Josh Griffith!) would cast him as lookalike Joshua Morrow's son Noah Newman. As CBS Daytime Chief Angelica McDaniel tweeted to @dcconfidential ahead of Adamson's casting news breaking, "sometimes wishes come true." Indeed they do!
