No. 20: Kristina Wagner, General Hospital
General Hospital’s Kristina Wagner returned to the Daytime Confidential Top 20 for the first time since November 2011. She hit No. 20 on the countdown in March, as Felicia was caught in a love triangle between ex-husbands Frisco (Jack Wagner) and Mac (John J. York). READ MORE
News that Roger Howarth (ex-Todd), Michael Easton (ex-John) and Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) are set to return to General Hospital as all-new characters is being met with mixed responses. As suds fans debate the latest chapter in the battle between GH and Prospect Park's One Life to Live, we decided to look back at a few actors who've played two unrelated roles on the same soap. Check 'em out below!
No. 10: Erika Slezak, One Life to Live
She only had a few precious weeks to entertain us in 2012, as One Life to Live ended its network television run early last January. Erika Slezak definitely made the most of her time. As Viki Lord dealt with the return of one of her deadliest foes, Alison Perkins (Barbara Garrick), and admitted that she still loved ex-husband Clint Buchanan (Jerry verDorn), Slezak displayed the same above reproach acting chops that made her a Daytime Emmy darling.
The woman who gave us Niki Smith also proved she could still be quite hilarious, portraying a highly-reactionary foreign maid during the Fraternity Row soap-within-a-soap arc. With OLTL possibly returning, we just might be putting Slezak on our "Best" lists for years to come.
No. 10: Don Diamont, The Bold and the Beautiful
It takes panache to play a royal douchebag A-hole like The Bold and the Beautiful’s Bill "Dollar Bill" Spencer. Good thing The Young and the Restless refugee Don Diamont has panache for days!
Diamont's ever-present charisma—generally exhibited via a poop-eating-grin— turned what could have been unforgiveable instances for his character (Scheming against Hope and Liam; kissing his postpartum depression-suffering wife's big sister), into opportunities to shine in 2012. No longer does this actor deserve to be called "just another pretty boy" like he was during his early years on Y&R. Sure, the Stallion is still hella pretty, but he can also act.
