Okay, let's be real. Michelle Stafford is damn near irreplaceable. I still have nightmares about that Sandra chick who played Phyllis for a time. However, The Young and the Restless is at the beginning of a RED-hot paternity story almost a decade in the making. Said story requires the character of Phyllis Summers Romalotti Abbott Newman to be present and accounted for in Genoa City. Therefore, the soap has GOTS to recast!

While names like As The World Turns' Martha Byrne and Guiding Light's Liz Keifer are already being bandied about by fans on Twitter as potential Phyllis recasts, I think one of daytime's most famous redheads would provide a sophisticated air to the bitch-nasty role. The creator and star of one of my fav-o-rite web series ever has launched a Kickstarter campaign for his latest creative effort. The Bannen Way's Mark Gantt's next project, The Night Visitor, is sci-fi-meets-horror-meets-thriller.

Starring Hollywood Heights' Brianne Davis (also an executive producer), Tara Buck (True Blood) and Vedette Lim (True Blood, Hollywood Heights), The Nigfht Visitor is already in post production. Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Dark Angel) directed a script from The Marcus Brothers. 

The found footage-style digital feature is hoping to raise $12,500. Check out the trailer and additional video content for The Night Visitor after the jump!

Former As the World Turns star Peyton List (ex-Lucy Montgomery) joined her The Tomorrow People co-stars Luke Mitchell and Aaron Yoo at The CW’s 2013 Upfront Presentation on May 16. The event featured several current and former daytime stars, including: Hart of Dixie’s Wilson Bethel (ex-Ryder Callahan, The Young and the Restless), Star-Crossed’s Natalie Hall (ex-Colby Chandler, All My Children), The Talk’s Aisha Tyler and Let’s Make a Deal’s Wayne Brady.
