Ragged Isle, Pretty and Anacostia Suds Up Wins at 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards

Ragged Isle and Pretty came out as top webisoaps, with both snagging three wins respectively at the 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards, hosted by We Love Soaps last night. The awards featured performances by As The World Turns' Colleen Zenk and featured clips of some of your favorite web series and more.
Ragged Isle won the Best Indie Soap Award (Drama), while Pretty claimed the Best Indie Soap Award (Comedy). Bitch-tastic series, Anacostia scooped up two awards for Best Writing (Drama) and Best Guest Appearance (Drama) for ATWT alum Martha Byrne's ball-busting turn as a madam on the serial. Knowing McCullough is actually leaving only makes watching the Scrubs scenes that much more difficult. McCullough and Robin will be sorely missed. Jason Thompson was on fire as the grief stricken Patrick, but you can bet your last dollar, Robin’s death is going to provide John J. York, Finola Hughes and Tristan Rogers some amazing scenes too. Webisoap Community Pumped For Tonight's Indie Soap Awards!

What is quickly becoming the Emmys for the webisoap community, the Annual Indie Soap Awards are being held tonight in Gotham, and to say the nominees are pumped, would be an understatement on par with saying the DeVanity siblings are just a wee bit dysfunctional!
Anacostia creator/leading man Anthony Anderson (who I am forever trying to rename Anthony Edwards for some odd reason!) is predicting the cast of his sizzling, mocha take on classic primetime soaps like Peyton Place and Knots Landing, will stun on the red carpet tonight. Anderson tweeted:

Bob Guza's Last General Hospital Writing Team Wins WGA Award

Former General Hospital scribe Bob Guza is having the last laugh on ABC for replacing him with Garin "Woman In White" Wolf. This past Saturday, Guza, along with writers Nathan Fissell, David Goldschmid, Karen Harris, Elizabeth Korte, Mary Sue Price, Susan Wald, Tracey Thomson, Meg Bennett (Guza's wife) and former GH-turned-The Bold and the Beautiful writer Michele Val Jean, took home the Writers Guild of America (WGA) award for daytime drama series writing.
