Days of Our Lives: Happy Anniversary Shane and Kimberly
By Brian Peel on May 14, 2011

Ten powerful minutes of daytime television from Days of Our Lives sensations (Patsy Pease) and (Charles Shaughnessy), also known as 80’s super-couple Shane Donovan and Kimberly Brady. It was the year 1988, Shane’s daughter Eve Donovan, played by the popular (Charlotte Ross), was in Salem and mixing it in with the wrong crowds. Eve played the streets as a hideaway prostitute who became involved with Pimp Nick Corelli (Conrad Dunn) who was eventually murdered in one of Salem’s biggest whodunit mysteries.
“Happy Anniversary Kim and Shane!” were the words Patricia Pease posted to her Facebook profile on May 5, commemorating the union of ISA Agent Shane Donovan and the girl from the Brady Fish Market, Kimberly Brady. Here, you’ll see one of Shane and Kimberly’s most powerful scenes. A very pregnant Kimberly follows Eve to a rundown hotel room where she is being roughed up by one of her ‘Johns’. Kimberly sneaks her way into the room and manages to smooth talk ‘The John’ to leave the hotel for a few minutes. Meanwhile at a restaurant in Washington, Shane away on ISA duties dines with Gabrielle who is unbeknownst to the drama about to unfold in Salem. When ‘The John’ arrives back to the room to find Eve trying to escape through a window and Kimberly close by, he rushes forward and lunges at a pregnant Kimberly throwing her across the room and over a side table, hitting her head and knocking her unconscious to the ground. Cue dramatic music!

Why DAYS Needs Matt Ashford
By Brian Peel on May 01, 2011
How time flies; 20 years on soap years can seem like an eternity. How quickly a 20-year relationship, romance and then marriage, can be turned upside down and onto its head without any explanation at all. When shows make changes to their writing team or production crew, they run the risk of losing focus to their television serials structure, backbone and history. Unfortunately, we have seen the sudden cancellation of two daytime soap operas – One Life To Live and All My Children, serials that have brought television drama into the homes of many for generations.
There is no doubt that the soap opera industry is fighting for survival. Only a handful of daytime soaps remain on screen or tied to a tight contract – Days of Our Lives is one of them. Several new storylines have begun to form on the show, which has seen viewer outrage and backlash, one in particular that story of Jennifer Rose Horton (Melissa Reeves) and her sudden loss of love for her husband Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford).

Not Even Ernesto Could Permanently Keep DAYS' Bo and Hope Apart!
By Brian Peel on January 09, 2011
Greetings from the Land Down Under! With Bo and Hope (Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso) currently facing their 5 millionth obstacle, I thought I would post this nostalgic, tragic, but classic Days of Our Lives clip that reinforces their romantic history. I remember when this scene aired many moons ago, and I can assure you that there was not one dry eye in the house.
I'm sure those long time fans who have put up, shut up and soaked up the drama from these two over the years will remember this one well. It's a shame that the show forgot the past when they played out her characters return to the show many years later. As it seemed, Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) was to blame for everyone's disappearances in Salem, but all know it was Ernesto Toscano.
I think DAYS is missing a good, old-fashioned tragic storyline like this. Don't you think it's time they send some people away and torture them for a few months? Who cares who's responsible, we all know Stefano will cop the blame for it later! READ MORE
As The World Turns: "Goodnight, Dear"
By Melodie on September 17, 2010
It’s been a very interesting 12 years for As The World Turns and myself. We’ve had our good times, bad times, and at times we weren’t in touch at all, but it was always there for me to return to. However, as of Friday, September 17 at 2pm, that will not be case. The world will stop turning and it will take a little piece of my heart with it.
As the World Turns was the first soap I watched that my mother didn't. My aunt babysat me during the summer and she would watch it, which meant I watched it. This is why it holds a special place in my heart. In regards to storylines, I quickly found myself hooked on Jack and Carly, Barbara Ryan, John Dixon, Hal Munson, and a number of other characters. I watched the show religiously until about mid-2004, a few months after the death of Rose. READ MORE
