Law & Order: SVU star and former Pine Valley resident Kelli Giddish (ex-Di Henry, All My Children) and SVU co-star Danny Pino were among the NBC stars who turned out to promote their shows at the Peacock Network’s 2013 Upfront Presentation on May 13. While ABC Daytime's struggling talker The View does precious little to promote the lineup's flagship serial General Hospital these days (Wish we could say the same for The Chew!), CBS Daytime has managed to create the perfect mixture of suds, game shows and a fun, light-hearted chatfest to highlight them all.
In a new, extensive report from Broadcasting & Cable, CBS Daytime V.P Angelica McDaniel discussed how The Talk compliments soaps The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Said McDaniel:
"With the addition of The Talk, we’ve found a formula that works for us with dramas, game and talk,” says McDaniel, CBS Daytime's senior VP. “It may have been controversial at the time to let go of a soap to bring on a talk show, but The Talk is now a platform for us to highlight our soap stars.”
A new, in depth report from Broadcasting & Cable touts ratings stabilization and/or growth among the four remaining daytime soap operas, while singling out ABC Daytime's General Hospital as the sudser which has seen the most growth this season. From the article:
So far this season, General Hospital has seen the most improvement of any soap, climbing 21% in households to a 2.3 from a 1.9; GH is up 7% among women 25-54, to a 1.6 from a 1.5.
Steffy, (Jacqueline MacInness Wood) still groggy and out of it, doesn’t seem to recall much of anything, not hopping on her motorcycle, not being married to Liam (Scott Clifton) and most certainly not being with child.
She did, however, want to know just how bad she was going to look in a bikini. Just where are we going with this?
Dr. Meade (Jon Hensley) told Liam he was going to call Bill (Don Diamont) and alert him to what had happened. I get that Dr. Meade has history with the family, but why is he taking it upon himself to call Bill? When he did call Bill, he claimed Liam asked him to. No he didn’t, Dr. Meade! Is this all just plot points to get Hensley more screen time, because there are much better ways.
Meade tried to tell Bill about Steffy losing the baby, but Bill was more concerned with getting to his son. Why is this doctor sharing information about his patient? Ever hear of confidentiality? READ MORE
Is a doctor checking out at The Bold and the Beautiful? Hunter Tylo (Taylor) posted a message on her website this morning stating she was off contract with the CBS sudser. Tylo also commented on TV daughter Jacqueline MacInnes Wood's (Steffy) status with B&B.
I am getting bombarded with questions to quell rumors, and here, in my Forum I will clarify that Jackie and I are (coincidentally) off our contracts. I have been very successful outside of B&B and I have no doubt she will too - and moreso, because she is free and single to travel all over
For me, contract talks ended 4 weeks ago. I am moving forward and opening back up to the thousands of acting roles available, writing, and persuing my skin care line. My friends and B&B fans will be sorely missed. But dont worry! I'll keep you posted of my every new adventure!
