Gossip Girl: O Brother, Where Bart Thou?

I don't know how many of you watched last night's Gossip Girl but I went into it with high hopes and finished it with all my expectations met. This is without question the best performance Ed Westwick has given. The scenes where Chuck broke down in Blair's ( Leighton Meester) arms were gripping.

What did you think of last night's episode?

It was tragically awesome.

Oh yeah, it just keeps getting better and better. Now they just need to find a "big name" like Heather Locklear to come in and take this show to the next level and double or triple its ratings. Question is, what type of character or which character could she or someone else play?

Absolutely amazing. The emotions between Blair and Chuck were so well done, when he finally collapsed into her embrace, I was bawling like a baby.

Thanks for posting this Luke! I was hoping DC would have something to say about the greatness that is Gossip Girl.

I had to watch the Blair/Chuck and Lily/Bart scenes over and over again. Serena, however, is practically on permanent FF for me.

Quick Q: I didn't watch the first season (I know, stupid me), so I'm a little confused about Lily's hospitalization. Was she in a mental hospital AND she had an abortion?

I actually shed a tear when Blair told Chuck she loved him and when he was sitting on her bed and she just threw her arms around him. What would this world be without Chuck and Blair.

Also I can't wait for Desmond Harrington to start as Bart Bass brother and Chuck's uncle. He is currently on Dexter. He looks like Bart Bass and talks just like Chuck.

Serena and her greasy boyfriend was nasty tho.

samrocks, I just finished watching the first season yesterday. What a great first season. But her being in the hospital wasn't mentioned in the first season.

You have to go rent it just to see how the great Chuck and Blair started.

Thanks for the tip BigDede. I will definitely be checking it out.

I still can't get over how good that show is. Of course, compared to what Guza has been giving me lately, I might consider a PUPPET SHOW titillating and Emmy-worthy. Wink

I didn't know the guy who plays Quinn on Dexter has been cast as Chuck's brother. You are totally right BigDede--He DOES look just like Bart and sound just like Chuck. Good casting there!

what is all this crap on this site'?? What happened to covering Daytime, is this the direction this site is going....? Nighttime, and Rev. Wright. Daytime isnt even dead yet and you,Luke, and the other DC website content editors are walking on its grave! Guess i wont be recommending this site to other Soap Opera fans anymore.

Disgusted.

I believe that Gossip Girl is a Primetime Soap Opera.... just a guess.

I'm glad DC posts about this stuff. GG is a soap opera, so is Grey's. Rev. Wright's comment was about a host on the view--a daytime TV show. It's nothing to flip out over.

I agree that GG is a primetime soap! Primetime is rocking the soap genre better than daytime. Loved last night's episode. I'm a big Chuck/Blair fan. Smile

Was a little disappointed that the "big death" was Bart, since it was so predictable. Josh Schwartz has put so much of The O.C. into GG that it's not even funny LOL Bart is definitely GG's Caleb Nichol. Fortunately, on GG, Bart's death gave Ed Westwick some incredible material, and it looks like it's gonna get even better. Seriously, that guy is simply amazing. I care about the other characters on the show, but let's face it, Chuck and Blair are what got me hooked. Ever since they hooked up in that limo in season one, I have been obsessed LOL

I love how slow the storyline is moving though. At least JS learned from his mistake with season 1 of The O.C., and has been moving at a much better pace.

I believe that this site is Called Daytime Confidential...

That is DAYTIME... DAYTIME! Daytime Confidential.

I can get primetime content anywhere. This site has prided itself on covering Daytime and broken a lot of the bounderies that other daytime sites were unable to break through. The bunch of them talk about Daytime dying and how execs, producers, networks, golf playing entitled daytime mafia goons are screwing it all up and killing it... what did they decide to do?? JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON THIS WEEK and move this site into nighttime and other silliness in an effort to keep it afloat when daytime is dead, buried and gone????

not only disapointed by my new daytime heroes (Luke, Jamie and the rest) I'm shocked at their turn coat selfish motives that have come to be known. What the Hell?? (as Whoopie would say??).

DIDNT YOU WATCH THE SAME ONE LIFE TO LIVE TODAY that i did DC Staff???? Did SOAP OPERA LOOK DEAD TO YOU, Or WORTH NOT COVERING???

Ahhh man i give up, i cant even convey what i am feeling in a dam random post under a show i dont even watch. phhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttt

I watch daytime and night time. Gossip Girl is so much better than anything on daytime right now. Ed is simply amazing and so much more talented than he is given credit for. Since we don't know what happened with Lily's baby, has anyone thought of of Vanessa being that baby.

Vicky, judging from Rufus' reaction, I thought that Lily had an abortion. I can't imagine that he would be so angry and unforgiving because of an adoption.
