Oh Sarah Palin you wacky, wacky gal! With your jokes about seeing Russia from your back yard when asked about your views on foreign policy—I mean, because who wouldn't make an awe shucks moment out of that question right?—Republican presidential nominee John McBain, I mean McCain has basically given Tina Fey's comedic career the biggest boost it's seen since she sold the script for Means Girls.
Fey's Saturday Night Live impersonations of Palin have been the best thing about the new TV season so far. In fact, I say she should ditch that dopey 30 Rock and do a full-on sitcom called the Sarah Palin and Friends Comedy Hour. But why should daytime be left out of all the fun? Okay, that question was rhetorical. I'd love to know which daytime soap star you think should play the Soccer Mom Who Would Be Second in Command in a Lifetime movie—sponsored by P&G's Tag Records—?
My vote is uber cougar Lauren Koslow (Kate, Days of Our Lives). She knows how to wear a smart suit and turn a smart phrase....okay, so the latter might actually be a detriment, but you get where I'm going...don't you? Someone? Can I phone a friend? Drill for oil! Drill for oil!

Good choices, though the first person I'd thought of was Martha Byrne. But you're right, Lauren Koslow would be great!

In typical Hollywood fashion they would do just that and cast a Democrat like NLG to play the Republican candidate, Sarah Palin. Grahn is an Democrat activist. See SID October 6, 2008 issue where she is at a campaign fund raiser with Biden. Palin deserves better, she's taken enough abuse. Kate from Days would be a good choice only because she kind of has the look and definitely has a little barracuda in her!

Good GOD, that picture's so big it almost blinded me!
My vote: Carolyn Hennesy, who can do Palin the only real justice Palin deserves.

I think Lynn Herring (Lucy, GH) would be perfect for it, to be honest

Uh. I'm just going to have to let my liberal colors show here for a moment and say no one. I would not wish that role on my least favorite daytime star.
Besides, after Tina Fey's SNL performances, anybody else would just be a pale imitation, no matter how talented.

kerfuffles, that's harsh. I'm a democrat and I don't care if someone plays her in a film or if there is a film about her. What's the problem if there is a movie about her, there is none. I mean really, to each there own.

I said Nancy Lee Grahn for her similar appearance, age, demeanor. I think she'd be awesome.

I love you, but please don't ever suggest that Tina Fey ditch "30 Rock" again! Have you ever seen it? She is a genious!!
Now, back on topic: looking at the list, I think Hillary B. Smith could totally pull it off!

Keeksta, I have to admit, I saw the 30 Rock pilot and hated it. I haven't watched since. Has it gotten better?

Just about everyone on the list is way too old. I mean Lauren K is fabulous but 55 y/o.
Okay.. what about Julianne Morris (Greta Von whatever from Days - yeah I had to look that up)
What about Julie Pinson or Krista Allen?
Sidney Penny?
Kelly Monaco (okay a bit young by like 12 years)?

KRISTA ALLEN?!

I think Nancy would be ironic since she's such a staunch Democrat. Susan Lucci is too old, IMO, but I think her personality is the most like Palin's, from what I've seen. How about Bobby Eakes? She can do "folksy" as proven w/ KWAK.

I seriously doubt she'd ok anyone but Sarah Palin to play Sarah Palin....just sayin' from what I've seen so far, she likes to be the center of attraction doncha know?

Thank you Jamey! Now I am cross-eyed looking at that pic! Or General McClellan could play Sarah Palin! However, in the spirit of the poll I picked NLG! But let the movie be on really late at night so I don't have to watch it. LOL

McClellan might be far more successful at portraying her than he was in his Afghani....I mean, Civil War duties because he is not one of those in the media elites who wouldn't give it his all despite being an absolute disaster. General McClellan would read everything thing put in front of him - like the NY Times and The Economist - to make sure he got the job done right.
I'm sure General McKiernan would approve of that casting, you betcha, darn right you are, you Joe Six Pack hockey mom! *wink*

Jamey, I didn't start watching 30 Rock right from the beginning, but it is one of my "must-see" shows now. I'll admit the humour is a little out there, but I think it's a little like the Office in that it takes the viewer a few episodes to understand the characters/humour, but once you get into it, it's hilarious! Mind you, this is all in my opinion, but if you have time, give it a (few) chance(
and you might change your mind
If not, at least I tried

Keeksta, it's funny you mention The Office, I only watched it once and turned it off. It's something about this new style of humor that doesn't resonate with me. I'm more of an old school type when it comes to comedy.

Not a big fan of either The Office or 30 Rock....I just want a well written Fraiser, Cheers, Friends, Will and Grace, or Cosby again. The Office and 30 Rock remind me of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiam.

Oh, I have to say that I l found Curb Your Enthusiasm to be very funny. I can see how some might not like The Office or 30 Rock but I think they can be quite brilliant sometimes. 30 Rock definitely has the advantage of having Alec Baldwin. The man's crazy but funny. While, I like The Office I definitely prefer the British version better.

Luke we are a lot alike when it comes to comedy, I love those types of shows too, Friends, Frasier, Cheers, Cosby, Roseanne, etc, but then I also liked Seinfeld and I LOVE Curb Your Enthusiam. The Office though is too cerebral for me.
