I am with you Blake! American Horror Story was the most original show on tv last year. I sat glued to it every week.

I don't give a crap about the Primetime Emmys, at least not when I come to this site -- DAYtime Confidential not PRIMEtime Confidential.

And when I see how few comments have been posted, I venture to guess that most others here agree.

Use the fork, Luke, and stick to daytime news.

This category is up for grabs. Hatfields & McCoys was an excellent miniseries. Luther was also excellent.

@Harlee: Yeah they primetime Emmy's is good. Since you have a large male audience watch the primetime series. And in this case a larger hreteosexual male audience. This is partly why cable series such as Breaking Bad, Broadwalk Empire and Mad Men tend to dominate over network television drama's.

Nothing against the gay male television audience or female, but the dramedy Entourage was a continuing serial that followed a pattern Hollywood has learned for targeting the straight male audience. While women tend to be targeted based on the fantasy that daytime brings as well as primetime soaps, straight men have to want to BE THESE GUYS. That is the core thing you need to know when writing a series geared toward straight men.

Ari's popularity on Entourage was because he was the rich asshole most male viewers wished they could be.

Don Draper international man of mystery and his subsequent issues are written from a male standpoint.

Walter's need to assure that is family is taken care of when he is dead and gone, is the underlying drive that make Breaking Bad a success.

Nucky's power and corruption on Boardwalk Empire is a hit with the male audience.

The Wire was a big hit because of its social realism of corruption from the mayor's office to the gangsta's on the street with males.

Nip/Tuck was a hit with the male audience partly because the Sean and Christian had so many sexy women in their lives.

So you have to play to the hetrosexual male fantasies and biases for a good series in that realm.

Anyways H&M is good.
