Yawn.... especially since this news leaked a couple of weeks ago.

I actually thought that they overcame the leak by showing the real emotions of the moment. Michael has not been my favorite, I preferred Groban, but I appreciated how moved he seemed to be by the experience.

I look forward to a few months from now when they seem to be sharing co-host duties because, for today, it still seemed like Kelly's show (or for that matter Regis's show). So it will be interesting to see how Michael can make it his own. Particularly if he has the sort of NYC night life stories that have always made Live so special in the past.

Very disappointing. I don't know what the press means when they talk about his "big personality". Good for him for getting the gig, but I never think athletes are good television.

It should have ended when Regis left. Kelly is not good. She has become more annoying each day.

I love Kelly and I'm delighted that Michael was the choice. I would have adjusted to any of the others, but Michael seems to be really "ready to play" in this field. They are great together.

It's always hilarious when people say things such as how Kelly gets more annoying each day...because that means they're still watching anyway. What's that definition of insanity again?

DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT OUTCOME!

I've got nothing against the guy, and I am definitely a Kelly Ripa fan, but I think they need to just stick a fork in this show! It was TECHNICALLY always REGIS' show. He was lucky to get rid of that shrill, hypocritical, annoying ingrate, Kathy Lee Gifford, and Kelly has been a pretty good replacement, but this show technically ended when Regis walked out the door!

I'm not happy about Michael, but I'll give him a chance. I thought there were many others that would have done better, and I still have doubts about Michael long-term, but he does seem genuinely happy to have the gig...who wouldn't be with the salary they're probably paying him...so I hope it goes well. The producers have spent a lot of money since Regis left to try to make this show stay viable, so we'll see how it goes.

I just hope they bring back the “real” Host Chat…it’s what makes the show unique. They've been reading too many newspaper articles lately and that's boring.

SZima, that's because the last four or five weeks were all pre-recorded in June and July (even though they mentioned the current date everyday). Now that they are back "LIVE", they should get back to normal.

Love the results of this poll. Always interesting to see how close the results are. I still think anyone would have been a better co-host. I'm curious to hear what the DC crew thinks in the latest podcast.
