If you ask most General Hospital fans (definitely the ones who log onto message boards and blogs like this one) what they'd most like to see happen with the soap, a good many would likely mention rebuilding the decimated Quartermaine family. While Edward (John Ingle), Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Tracy (Jane Elliott) all still live in the fictional burg of Port Charles, New York—and are even interacting a bit more with prodigal Q's Jason (Steve Burton) and Michael (Chad Duell)— there's no denying the days of the classic Q's from the 80's and 90's acting out Shakespearean tragedies and comedies in Monica's living room, have been over for years.
All of that being said, there is a whole generation of young adult Quartermaines whom PC purists would love to see come home, one being Tracy's youngest son Dillon Quartermain (né Hornsby). Last played by Scott Clifton, Dillon's comic interplay with his stepfather Luke (Tony Geary), as well as his saccharine-sweet love story with Felicia and Frisco's youngest daughter Georgie (Lindze Letherman) made the character a fan fave. Even when his wandering, teenage pecker had him cheating on Georgie with Paprika, er Sage Alcazar, or bumping uglies with his stepsister Lulu (Julie Marie Berman) on the boathouse floor, all it took was one of Dillon's "awe shucks" looks, or frantic ramblings about wanting to be the next Spielberg, and Georgie and fans alike were forgiving him.
With Clfton currently logging time on the very frontburner as Liam on CBS Daytime's The Bold and the Beautiful, it isn't likely he'll be bringing Dillon back to Port Charles anytime soon, however with all the recent soap cancellations and cut backs, a slew of Clifton's soap-o-peers are currently out of a day(time) job. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Clifton's fellow One Life to Live alum Josh Kelly (ex-Cutter) provide a slightly edgier take on the role.
Speaking of OLTL, what about Clifton's onetime onscreen sorta brother John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex)? When the two acted together in Llanview, fans couldn't get over how similar their quirky mannerisms were. Also from OLTL, there's David Gregory (ex-Ford), although since Gregory just played a horny, aspiring filmmaker, that might be a little deja vu for fans who watched both soaps.
If it would just be too weird to recast the role of Dillon with an ex-OLTL star, what with Starr (Kristen Alderson) and the gang in town, maybe ex-Days of Our Lives hunk Brandon Beemer would work? Beemer and his abs were just bumped to recurring at B&B, and if there is anyone who knows how to make good and proper use of eye candy, it's Frank and Ron. What do you guys think?
If GH were to bring back Dillon Quartermaine, who should play the role?

Not JPL... Please no, we don't need FF to follow along after him.

As I am one of the two who said "Other": the guy who played Tad's son by Hilary on AMC!

Darin Brooks came to my mind now that "Blue Mountain State" got canceled, maybe he would like to return to soaps. I think he could pull it off.
When it comes to the list above ... since we're having some OLTL characters in Port Chuck now it would be kind of awkward for a former OLTL star resume the role of a Q heir. Maybe Josh Kelly would still be fine since he wasn't that long on OLTL.
Don't want to see Gregory or Beemer in the role though.
I do agree that we need some Q's on that show that can carry on the Quartermaine name. We need this new generation.

I've actually heard "rumors" that John-Paul Lavoisier is on the list of former OLTL alum to be introduced to GH in some fashion, but NOT as his OLTL character. Dillon Quartermain is one of them. Take it with a grain of salt though. He'd be a great addition in that role.

Scott Clifton or nobody. Admittedly, this is kind of selfish so that I can stop "watching" B&B (by which I mean fast forwarding through any and all scenes that don't feature Liam). I'm glad he got his emmy at last (honestly, I was crying because I was so happy) for playing Liam, but COME HOME DAMMIT.

OMG anyone except JPL or David Gregory... JPL because I can't stand the actor and his harpy of a girlfriend and poor David Gregory because I couldn't stand Ford so I am biased. But I had the opportunity to meet JPL, Josh Kelly and DG and have to say that David Gregory and Josh Kelly are both real sweethearts who are very very nice with soap fans.
But the only Dillon for me is Scott Clifton and I am dreaming of a Dillon/Georgie reunion

There are so many young talented actors out there, why limit this to OLTL actors and Brandon Beemer. Mark Hapka is super talented and was wasted at Days. Zack Conroy could work as well, though he might be too young.

If I had my druthers, it would be Scott Clifton. But since he's unavailable, then it has to be "Other" - just get someone new and give them a chance. What I don't want to see is JPL and his weird acting tics, or anyone who played a character named "Ford."

I think it will be JPL and he would be my last choice. I voted for josh kelly but I doubt he will be available - I think he is on to bigger and better as is finn witrock (the guy that played tads son). Ditto DG and Tom Pelphrey. I could see the kid that played colby's other boyfriend on amc or zach conroy in the role and I think they would be available.

I could get on board with Zack Conroy. He's only a year younger than Clifton so he could pull it off.
Don't want to see JPL in the role. And I think GH should look out and not cast too many people from OLTL. This shouldn't become a weird resurrection.
I get that OLTL people would be happy about it ... but then again that's GH. And for that role I don't even see that John Paul would fit.

I think he has Q written all over him.

Tom Pelphrey or Darin Brooks! Whoever they hire must be able to act alongside Jane Elliot without being handed his buttocks on a silver platter, and he must also be able to seamlessly juggle comedy and drama. John Paul Lavoisier seems to only excel at comedy. His dramatic skills are pretty weak.
Personally, I think Tom would be the best choice.

Tom Pelphrey mostly just yells, which wouldn't really suit the Quartermaines (the few of them left) of today. He and Maurice Benard could get into shouting matches to fill up episodes.
What about the guy who used to play Casey on ATWT? Either of them.

Josh Kelly.
I don't EVER want to see JPL's twitchy mannerism on TV after being subjected to them for almost a decade!

Kyle Lowder or Thad Luckinbill. Just a couple of thoughts to throw out there. I could see Josh Kelly too. Not JPL or DG. I would love it if Scott Clifton returned but he's elsewhere and if GH doesn't get a reprieve, why would he come back?...

Choosing from these five, of course, my first choice is the original, Scott Clifton. But he's not available and we DO need to revive the Q-Maine Mansion. I have to say that JPL would be perfect even though many above disagree. I say this because he has those same quirks as Clifton and his comedic timing would fit in perfectly with the old Q-maine banter that we love and miss. I don't think he was close enough to the Mannings for it to bother me. Maybe John but not the Mannings. But if that is a problem then I'd go with Josh Kelly because he wasn't that deeply tied to the Llandview canvas. I say hell no to the other two options.
